자외선 차단제는 해변 및 실외수영장에서 물놀이 시 사용되는 경우가 많으나, 기존의 자외선 차단효과 측정방법 및 기준은 내수성 시험방법을 포함하고 있지 않아, 그 확립이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 내수성 자외선 차단제의 자외선 차단지수 평가방법에 관하여 한국인의 특성에 맞는 시험방법을 확립하고자 하였다. 내수성 자외선 차단제의 자외선 차단지수 평가방법을 표준화하기 위하여, 외국과 우리나라의 자외선 차단지수 측정방법을 비교하였고, 우리나라의 자외선 차단지수 측정방법을 내수성 자외선 차단지수 측정방법에 적용할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 내수성 자외선 차단제 선별 시험을 통해 제품의 적합성을 검증하였고 내수성 자외선 차단지수 측정방법의 변수를 설정, 확인 시험을 하였다. 물 온도 23 ∼ 32 ℃에서 내수성 자외선 차단지수 비교 시험을 한 결과, 이 범위 안에서 온도는 내수성 자외선 차단지수에 통계학적으로 의의 있는 영향을 미치지 않음을 알 수 있었으며, 물의 흐름 변화에 따른 내수성 자외선 차단지수는 43.61 ± 1.96, 43.92 ± 1.62 그리고 42.65 ± 2.41로 결과의 유의적 차이는 없었다. 그러므로 피험자의 적절한 활동을 대신하기 위한 대안으로 지속적인 20 min 물 순환이 적절하다고 사료된다.
Sunscreen is usually used by people when they are at the beach or outdoor swimming pools. Since the existing methods of and standards for measuring the effects of blocking ultra violet rays do not employ water resistance test methods, the establishment of a water resistance SPF test method is required. In this study, to standardize the SPF evaluation methods for a water resistant sunscreen, proposed measurement methods in this study were compared with those of foreign countries. Selected water resistance SPF experiments confirmed the product’s suitability and a verification test was then conducted by establishing the variables of water resistance SPF measurement methods. In the comparative experiment on water resistance SPF given a water temperature of 23 ∼ 32 degrees centigrade showed that temperature did not have any statistically significant effect on water resistance SPF. The changing water flow also did not have any statistically significant effect on the water resistance SPF. Therefore, continuous 20 min water circulation is deemed appropriate as an alternative to the subject’s usual activity.
