본 연구는 다양한 원예치료 프로그램이 발달장애 아동의 적응행동에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보고자 실시하였다. 대상자는 대구광역시 장애인 종합복지관 내 조기교육실을 이용하는 발달장애 아동 3명이였다. 원예치료 프로그램은 2005년 3월부터 2005년 7월까지 매주 1회씩 총 18회를 실시하였다. 적응행동 평가결과 A, B, C 아동 모두 기술과 습관변화영역과 성격과 행동변화 영역의 점수가 원예치료 실시 전보다 높아졌다. 원예치료 평가표 측정결과 개인별로 차이는 있지만 원예치료 실시 전보다 정서발달과 사회성발달 영역에서 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 질적 평가 결과 집중력과 대인관계의 향상을 볼 수 있었는데 특히 다양한 색상에 대한 관심을 보인 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로부터 원예치료는 발달장애 아동의 적응행동에 효과적인 것으로 판단되었다.

This study found how could the horticultural therapy change the adaptive behavior of developmental disabled children. The studying subjects were three children with the developmental disabled who treated in the handicapped integrated Welfare Hall, Daegu. The horticultural therapy program was performed totally 18 sessions by once a week from March to July, 2005. According to the results of scoring paper for their adaptive behavior after the horticultural therapy, all range of scores which were skill and habitual changes, personal characteristics, and change of behavior were significantly raised. The evaluation table of the horticultural therapy indicated that the emotional and social development was improved, but there were some differences in person. As a quality analysis, the concentrative abilities and interpersonal relations were also improved.
Especially subjects was attracted by various color. This study showed that the horticultural therapy could be highly effective the one's adaptive behavior in the developmental disabled children.
