통신언어 신조어와 통신언어 사용자의 표준 한국어에 대한 의식 조사 연구

【벼리】본 연구는 통신언어의 유형별 특성에서 나타나고 있는 형태변 이 통신언어 신조어에 대해 이들의 표현 양상과 의미를 알아 본 것이다. 그리고 통신언어 신조어 사용이 통신언어 사용자들의 표준 한국어에 대 한 의식에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위하여, 통신언어 사용자들 을 세 그룹(중.고생, 대학생, 일반성인)으로 나누어 설문지 조사를 하였 다. 이러한 조사 연구를 통하여 통신언어의 사용이 한국어를 오염 시킨 다는 무조건적인 부정적 인식에 앞서, 학교 현장에서 표준 한국어 교육 의 확장이 필요하다고 보았다. 또한 통신언어 신조어 사용에 대한, 사회 언어학적인 새로운 시각을 넓혀 보고자 하였다. 이로써 급변하는 현 시 대의 통신언어에 대한 언어의 사회성을 인지하는 교육의 방향에도 도움 이 되고자 하였다.

This is a study on the meanings and expressional tendencies of the neologisms in communication languages based on the characteristics of each type of communication language. A survey was conducted in order to gain a better understanding of the effects using these neologisms have on the users' awareness of the korean language. The result of the surveys are as follows. First, there most word-form shifts were compound words and were asyntactic. Second, clause or word abbreviations were frequent, even to the point of deleting all the vowels and listing only the consonants. Third, the calquing of foreign compound loanwords into the Korean language was conspicuous. Fourth, in the survey on the understanding of the standard Korean language by users of communication language, the results showed a generally good understanding of the proper rules of Korean orthography. In contrast, 18% of the surveyed university students answered that they felt they didn't know enough about standard Korean orthography. Therefore, I would like to conclude that the use of communication languages and the understanding of the standard Korean language must be considered as separate matters, and that a paradigm shift is needed accordingly. I would like to present the following proposals to this end.First, it is my hope that Korean language classes will be promoted as a major subject for middle school and highschool students preparing for the college entrance exams alongside subjects such as English and Mathematics. Second, as much as there are numerous special lectures focused on the Humanities in universities, I expect more classes to be taught on the social education of the Korean language. In this rapidly evolving cultural society of ours communication languages are a necessity and the creation of neologisms cannot be stopped. Therefore, instead of viewing such changes in a negative light, it is rather vital that we gain a sociological and linguistic understanding of these changes, as well as promote and reinforce the education of the standard Korean language. It is my hope that this study will be of some help in setting the direction of the future of Korean language education, and look forward to continued studies in this field.
