Purpose: To evaluate the visual acuity and optical performance after implantation of a aspheric monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) in the cataract patients. Methods: Thirty eyes of 25 cataract patient who underwent implantation of a monofocal aspheric IOL (HOYA PC-60AD) either unilaterally or bilaterally were included. Distance visual acuity and objective visual performance were evaluated preoperatively, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month and 3 months postoperatively. At 3 month of postoperation, objective visual performance were compared with the 36 eyes of 18 normal control over 40s. Objective evaluation of optical visual quality, objective scatter index (OSI), modulation transfer function (MTF) and Strehl ratio, was performed by using Optical Quality Analysis System (OQAS) with a 4 mm pupil diameter.
