본 연구는 결혼이주여성의 한국사회 ‘다문화’ 수용경험을 이해하고자 질적 연구 방법을 활용하였 다. 이주한 지 10년 이상 된 베트남 결혼이주여성 7명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시한 후 내러티브 탐 구방법으로 수행하였다. 연구 결과는 이들의 이야기를 살아낸 삶과 다시 살아내기로 구분하였다. 살 아낸 삶(이방인으로 살기)은 무조건 수용, 불편한 수용, 불가피한 수용으로, 다시 살아내기(한국인처 럼 살기)는 방어적 대응, 자발적 대응, 창조적 대응으로 정리하였다. 본 연구는 결혼이주여성의 한국 사회 ‘다문화’ 수용 양상을 드러내어 결혼이주여성의 입장에서 필요한 지원과 자료를 제공함으로써 이를 토대로 결혼이주여성과 다문화가족의 삶의 질을 제고 할 수 있는 실천개입 방안을 모색하고자 하였다.

This Study was conducted using a purposive sample of seven marital immigrant women for the purpose of full understanding of their experiences of ‘multicultural’ acceptance of Korea. The study participants were Vietnamese women who have been living in Korea over ten years. Data collection was through unstructured group and individual interviews and their verbatim were analyzed by narrative exploratory methods. The major findings are their common experiences illustrated by ‘the life of survivals’ and ‘living out the life again’. The outcome of this study may provide significant insight and direction for the development of effective practice intervention for the quality life of these and other marital immigrant women and multicultural families in the Korean society.
