The cranefly genus Tipula Linnaeus, 1758 (Diptera: Tipulidae) contains up to 2,790 species in 40 subgenera distributed in all biogeographic regions. The richest fauna is known in the Palaearctic region with 1,224 speices. The Korean Tipula was recorded for the first time by Alexander in the early 20th century. According to the ‘Checklist of Korean aquatic insects (2014)’ 30 species in 12 subgenera are recorded in Korea. Baek and Bae (2016) additionally reported 5 species new to Korea. We reviewed all known species of the genus Tipula in the Korean Peninsula. We also provided a key to the subgenera and species.
