본 연구는 간호대학생의 다문화 인식과 문화적 민감성 수준을 파악하고 두 변수 간의 관 계 및 영향요인을 파악하기 위한 시도되었다. 간호대학생의 다문화 인식과 문화적 민감성 은 5점 척도에서 각각 3.63점과 3.56점으로 선행연구와 유사한 수준으로 나타났다. 다문화 인식은 다문화 관련 자원봉사 경험이 있거나, 외국인 환자를 돌보거나 간호한 경험이 있는 경우 유의하게 높았다. 문화적 민감성은 종교나 외국인 친구가 있거나, 외국인 환자를 돌보 거나 간호한 경험이 있는 경우 유의하게 높았다. 간호대학생의 다문화 인식과 문화적 민감 성은 통계적으로 유의한 순상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 다문화 인식에 영 향을 미치는 변수는 문화적 지식 습득, 문화적 독특성 수용으로 다문화 인식을 44.2% 설명 한다. 대상자의 문화적 민감성에 영향을 미치는 변수들은 다문화에 대한 수용성, 다양성에 대한 개방성, 다문화에 대한 민감성과 차별성, 외국인환자 간호경험, 종교로서 문화적 민감 성을 30.7% 설명한다.
The purpose of this study is to identify the correlation and influencing factors of the multicultural awareness(MA) and cultural sensitivity(CS) among Korean nursing students. This study involved 361 third and forth-grade nursing students. Data collection was conducted through the use of questionnaires which included MA and CS. The main results were as follows. MA and CS of the participants in this study were shown to have moderate levels(MA : M=3.63, SD=0.48; CS : M=3.56, SD=0.47). The nursing students who had experience in caring foreign patients were found to have significantly higher MA and CS. In addition, there was a significant positive correlation between MA and CS(r=.532, p＜.001). The factors influencing MA were acquisition of cultural knowledge and acceptance of cultural uniqueness. The factors influencing CS were receptivity to multiculture, multicultural openness, multicultural sensitivity/distinction, experience of caring foreign patients, and the religion. The findings suggest that multicultural programs for nursing students have to be provided to enhance MA and CS.
