Nanofiltration & Reverse Osmosis Membranes for Nuclides Separation
Facing the decommissioning era of nuclear facility, it is necessary to develop technology for treating wastewater containing nuclides. Among variety of nuclides, Cs/Sr/Co are the major nuclides considering quantity and radioactivity. In this presentation, we report the performance of nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes for nuclides separation. Reverse osmosis membranes have quite effective for the separation of Cs, Sr, and Co. Rejection is above 93% for single component and even higher for mixed nuclides separation, > 98%. This study indicates that polymeric membranes can be potential candidate for nuclides separation.
