본 연구의 목적은 성별, 시-지각, 개방-기술 경험, 과제의 유형, 시각적 자극 속도가 동시적-예측 타이밍에 미치는 효과를 결정하는 것이었다. 15명의 남성과 여성이 바이옵터 시-지각 검사를 이용한 6가지 시-지각 검사와 개방기술 활동 검사지를 작성한 후에 베이신 예측 타이머를 이용하여 3가지의 서로 다른 시각적 자극 속도 조건에서 단추누르기 과제와 타격 과제에 대한 50회의 동시적 예측 타이밍 과제를 수행하였다. 그 결과 시-지각 능력과 개방기술 경험에서 남성과 여성 간의 유의한 차이가 없어, 이러한 변수들은 동시적 예측 타이밍 과제의 수행에서의 남녀차이를 설명하지 못하였다. 단추누르기 과제보다 타격 과제의 수행에서 정확성과 일관성이 높게 나타났다. 이에 대한 이론적 설명이 논의되었다.
The purpose of the present study was to determine the effects of visual perception, open skill experience, task type, and visual stimulus speed on coincidence-anticipation timing performance in males and females. Fifteen males and fifteen females performed 50 trials on a push-button and a batting coincidence-anticipation task on a Bassin Anticipation Timer under three distinct visual stimulus speed conditions, following six vision tests using the Biopter apparatus and an open skills activity questionnaire. Because significant differences did not existed between males and females in open skills experiences and visual perceptions, these variables did not explain the differences in coincidence-anticipation timing performance. The batting response, requiring a coupling of receptor and effector anticipation, resulted in smaller AE and VE errors, suggesting that linking perception with larger motor action made it easier for the participants to time their response accurately. Possible explanations for the performance differences are discussed and future research directions were provided.
