한국교회사학회는 1966년에 국내 6번째 신학회로 시작되어 활발한 학술 대회 개최와 수준 높은 학회지 (한국연구재단 등재지)를 발간하며 모범적으로 활동해 왔다. 본 논문은 2000년부터 2019년까지의 학회 활동을 분석 하고 향후 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 논문의 내용은 1) 보관자료의 성격과 분석 2) 이사회/임원회 구성의 변화 3) 학회의 다양한 활동 소개 4) 특 기사항: 특별 제안이나 활동들 5) 향후 발전을 위한 제안 등으로 구성되었 다. 한국교회사학회 임원진들이 보관하고 있는 일차자료는 중복과 상실, 또 단순/부실 기술의 문제점이 있었으나 지난 20년간의 학회 활동을 추적 하는데 별 어려움은 없었다. 임원진의 구성 변화의 원인과 내용을 추적하고, 연 4회 정기학술대회의 특징을 분석하며, 학술지의 위상 변화, 번역/저 술 작업과 특별학술활동 등을 살펴보며 학회의 향후 발전을 위한 구체적인 제안을 시도하였다.

The Church History Society in Korea [CHSK hereafter] was established in 1966 as the sixth theological society in Korea and continues to be active by offering academic conferences four times a year and publishing its academic journal (approved by the National Research Foundation since 2002) three times a year. This paper seeks to trace and evaluate the activities of the CHSK in terms of its historical changes and developments by reading and analyzing the official records of CHSK such as the minutes of leadership meetings, academic conferences, and special documents between 2000 and 2019. It consists of five sections including 1) nature and characteristics of records kept by the leadership 2) changes and expansion of leadership 3) major activities 4) incidents or irregular activities of special attention and 5) some practical suggestions as future direction.
