목적 : 안보건 전문가인 안경사와 안과의사의 지역별 인력 현황과 인구 대비 분포를 통해 지역별 안보건 의료 서비스의 실태를 알아보고자 한다.
방법 : 통계청, 선행연구와 (사)대한안경사협회, 안경광학과 및 관련 기관의 인터넷 자료를 검색하고 수집하였다.
결과 : 국내 안경사는 17,885명이었으며, 안경원은 총 10,747개소로 나타났다. 안경원 1개소당 착용인구는 4,786.82명이고, 안경사 1명당 착용인구는 1,571.70명이었다. 안과의사는 총 3,610명이었으며, 안과 의원은 1,658개소이었고, 안과 의원 1개소당 안과의사 2.11명이 근무하는 것으로 조사되었다. 안과 의원 1개소당 명세서 청구 건수는 21,198.02건이며, 진료환자는 8,229.70명이었다. 안과의사 1명당 명세서 청구 건수는 8,912.72건 이며, 진료환자는 3,513.29명이었다. 안경원 1일 기대 방문자는 5.00명, 안과 의원 1일 기대 명세서 청구 건수는 80.42건, 1일 기대 진료환자는 31.06명이었다. 안경사 1일 기대 업무량은 2.97명이고, 안과의사 1일 기대 명세서 청구 건수는 39.45건, 1일 기대 진료환자는 15.19명으로 나타났다.
결론 : 안경사의 질적 수준을 높여 차별화할 수 있는 대책이 마련되어야 하며, 안경사들의 적극적인 참여를 통해 안보건 전문가로서의 이미지를 제고시켜야 한다.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of eye health care services by region through the current status of the workforce of optometrist and ophthalmologists who are ECP, and their distribution to the population.
Methods : Data were searched and corrected from the National Statistical Office, prior research, the Korea Optometric Association, the Department of Optometry and related institutions.
Results : There were 17,885 optometrists, and a total of 10,747 optical shop in Korea. The number of wearing people per optical shop was 4,786.82 people, and the number of wearing people per optometrist was 1,571.70 people. There were a total of 3,610 ophthalmologists, 1,658 ophthalmic clinic, and 2.11 ophthalmologists per ophthalmic clinic were employed. The number of billing statements per ophthalmic clinic was 21,198.02, and the number of patients treated was 8,229.70. The number of billing statement per ophthalmologist was 8,912.72, and the number of patients was 3,513.29. The number of expected daily visitors to the optical shop was 5.00, the number of expected billing statement per day for ophthalmic clinics was 80.42, and the expected number of patients for treatment per day was 31.06. The expected daily workload of optometrists was 2.97 people, the number of expected billing statement per day for ophthalmologists was 39.45, and the number of expected patients per day was 15.19.
Conclusion : Measures to differentiate optometrists by raising the quality level should be prepared, and the image of an ECP should be enhanced through the active participation of optometrists.
