중국 인터넷문학은 20여 년의 발전 동안 문학을 넘어 애니메이션, 영화, 드라마, 게임 등의 원천 텍스트의 IP로 발전해 왔다. 특히, 2020년 중국 인터넷문학의 대표기 업인 ‘웨원그룹’을 둘러싼 일련의 사건들은 관련 업계의 조정과 전환을 노정한다. 20 20년 연초에 방영된 <2019웨원창작문학풍운성전>은 단순한 온라인 구독에 의존했던 운영 방식에서 벗어나 판권운영을 통한 수익 창출이 중국 인터넷문학 업계의 성장동력이 되었음을 보여준다면, 2020년 4월 말부터 5월 초까지 온라인을 뜨겁게 달군 웨원그룹의 고위경영진 사퇴와 ‘신계약’ 논쟁은 인터넷문학 업계의 경영방침 변화가 표면화되어 일어난 갈등으로, 인터넷문학 창작, 이용 환경의 변화와 이용자의 세대교 체 등과 연관되어 있다. 이는 웨원이란 대형 플랫폼에 대항해 작가와 이용자들은 목 소리를 내어 창작과 소비의 결정권을 수호한 사건이었으며, 플랫폼 역시 이에 반응 해 중국 인터넷문학의 묶은 문제점을 해소하고 새로운 도약을 위한 제도적 장치를 마련했다.

Over twenty years of development, Internet literature in China is no longer limited to literature, but has evolved into a source IP that is adapted in the form of animations, movies, dramas and games. As a leader in Internet literature, ‘Yuewen Group(閱文集團)’ is rapidly changing its commercial model, and a series of events in 2020 have symbolized its coordination and transition. ‘2019 Yuewen Wenchuang Wenxue Fengyun Shengdian(閱文原創文學風雲榜盛 典)’, which aired at the beginning of 2020, showed that generating profits through copyright operations has become another growth engine for the Internet literature industry, away from the simple online subscription-dependent operation. The resignation of Yuewen Group‘s senior management and dispute over “new contract” which heated up online from late April to early May 2020, showed that the Internet literature subscription system is shifting from a paid model to a free model. This was a case in which Chinese Internet literature was put on the brake amid a shift from “need” to “market” and readers from “user” to “consumer”. The era of the first generation of Internet literature has passed and is now entering the era of ‘2.0’. It is necessary to continuously observe and track what the future of Chinese Internet literature will be like, and the content, value and evaluation of Chinese Internet literature will be changed accordingly.
