본고는 북송대 이래 청대까지 자평명리학의 주요 원전에 나타난 用神에 초점을 맞춘 문헌연구를 통하여 子平眞詮의 用神을 규명함으로써 이를 둘 러싼 용어상의 혼란을 줄이기 위한 것이다. 子平眞詮의 用神은 용어상으 로는 子平三命通變淵源의 ‘用神’을 따르고, 의미상으로는 滴天髓 원문의 ‘用事之神’을 취한 것이다. 따라서 子平眞詮에서의 用神은 ‘用事之神’의 의 미로서 四柱의 전체 局을 ‘관장하는 神’이라고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 子平 眞詮의 用神은 ‘用事之神’의 줄임말이므로 다른 원전의 ‘所用之神’과는 확 실히 구별할 필요가 있다. 子平眞詮에서의 用神은 ‘用事之神’의 의미로서 ‘之’는 단순수식 기능의 어조사이므로 줄여서 ‘용사신’으로 해석할 것을 제 안한다. 子平眞詮에서는 먼저 월령을 기준으로 用事神을 정한 후 그 用事 神을 기준으로 日干과 用事神의 생극관계에 따라 격국을 정하는 2단계 구조 라고 볼 수 있다. 즉 用事神이 독립변수라면 격국은 종속변수인 것이다. 한편 심효첨은 ‘用事之神’을 돕는 역할로서 相神을 도입했다. 심효첨이 相神을 도입한 것은 ‘用事之神’을 간단히 줄여 用神이라고 표현하면서 생기는 용어상의 중복을 막기 위한 불가피한 선택인 것으로 보인다.

This paper is intended to reduce the confusion of surrounding The power lord (用神) in <Zipingzhenquan(子平眞詮)>. The power lord in <Zipingzhenquan (子平眞詮)> follows terminologically Seo Dae-seung’s <Ziping three lives flexible Origin(子平三命通變淵源)> and follows semantically <Zeokcheonsu(滴 天髓)>. The power lord(用神) in <Zipingzhenquan(子平眞詮)> is the abbreviation of The lord of seized power(用事之神), preside The whole of Four Pillars. Therefore for distinguishing it from The use lord, The power lord in <Ziping zhenquan(子平眞詮)> should be interpreted The lord of seize power(用事神) as abbreviation of The lord of seized power(用事之神) rather than literally translating it into The used god(用神). In <Zipingzhenquan(子平眞詮)>, it can be seen as a two-stage structure in which The lord of seize power(用事神) is first determined based on The monthly Pillar(月令) and then The Four Pillars structure(格局) is determined according to the relationship between The ilgan(日 干) and The lord of seize power(用事神). The helping lord(相神) is newly introduced as to help complete The Four Pillars structure(格局) in <Zipingzhenquan(子平眞詮)>. The helping lord(相神) is considered an inevitable choice to distinguish The power lord(用神).
