마을숲은 농촌마을의 대표적 경관이자 녹지 환경으로서의 생태적 기능을 비롯하여 마을의 다양한 문화가 이루어지는 공간 제공의 기능을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 생태계서비스의 개념적 틀을 응용하여 마을숲의 가치를 측정할 수 있는 평가 지표를 도출하고자 하였다. 먼저 생태계서비스 평가와 관련한 국제 기준의 검토를 통하여 평가지표로 공급, 조절, 지지, 문화의 4개 대분류를 설정하고 28개의 세부항목을 설정하였다. 마을숲과 관련된 21개의 문헌에서 나타난 마을숲의 기능, 역할, 효과 등을 평가 항목에 맞추어 분류하고 각 유형별 세부 내용을 고찰하였다. 과거와 현재의 마을숲 기능을 고려하여 전문가 브레인스토밍을 통해 4개 유형 24개의 평가 항목을 선정하였다. 도출된 평가 항목으로 4개 마을숲의 주민을 대상으로 중요도를 평가하여 신뢰성을 분석한 결과 24개 문항의 크론바흐 알파 계수가 0.857로, 신뢰성이 높은 수준이나, 공급의 3개 항목, 지지의 1개 항목을 제외하면 신뢰성이 더 높아진다. 또한 각 항목별로 중요도를 분석하면 공급기능은 중요도가 보통보다 낮은 수준이었으며 이는 현재 마을숲에서의 공급기능은 거의 이루어지지 않기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 신뢰도와 중요도의 결과를 바탕으로 최근 마을숲에서 중요도가 낮은 공급 기능 3개 항목과 신뢰성이 낮았던 지지 기능 1개 항목 등 4개 항목을 제외한 20개 항목을 마을숲의 생태계서비스 평가지표로 도출하였다.
The village grove is a representative landscape of rural villages, and has an ecological function as a green environment and a function of providing various cultural spaces in the village. This study tried to derive an evaluation index that can measure the value of village grove by applying the conceptual framework of ecosystem services. First, through the review of international literatures related to ecosystem service evaluation, four major categories of supply, regulation, support, and culture were established as evaluation indicators, and 28 detailed items were set. The functions, roles, and effects of village grove that appeared in 21 literature related to village groves were classified according to the evaluation items, and detailed contents of each type were reviewed. Considering the functions of village groves in the past and present, 24 evaluation items of 4 types were selected through expert consensus. As a result of analyzing the reliability by evaluating the importance of the residents of the four villages with the derived evaluation items, the Cronbach alpha coefficient for 24 items was 0.857, which is highly reliable, but the reliability is higher except for three items of supply and one item of support. In addition, when analyzing the importance of each item, the importance of the supply function was lower than the average level. Based on the results of reliability and importance, 20 items were derived as ecological service evaluation indicators for the village grove, excluding four items of supply and support that were low in importance and reliability in the village grove.
