최근 코로나-19 팬데믹(pandemic) 시대가 지속하고 계속해서 새로운 변이 바이러스가 발생하면서 전 세계적으로 위기 상황에 놓이게 되었다. 하지만 교회의 선교적 사명은 어떤 상황에서도 지속하여야 한다. 그러므로 선교사의 사역에 지장이 없도록 선교사 멤버케어에 더욱 집중해야 할 시점이다. 그러나 이번 코로나-19 팬데믹이 도래하 여 국경이 폐쇄되자 한국교회와 파송 단체에서는 코로나-19에 감염된 선교사와 그 가족의 건강에 대해 어떤 특별한 대책이 거의 없었다. 실제적인 도움도 주지 못하고 건강하기만을 기도할 뿐이었다. 그동안 진행되었던 선교사 멤버케어의 의미가 무색하였다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 선교사 멤버케어의 당위성을 전제로 그 정의와 필요성을 먼저 짚어본 후 그 한계까지 살펴보고자 한다. 그리고 그 한계를 극복하 기 위한 대안으로 선교사 자신이 총체적 치유의 개념을 가지고 어떤 곳이든지 돌발적인 상황이 벌어져도 실천할 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 통해 포스트 코로나(Post Corona) 시대에 새로운 전염병이 창궐 (猖獗)한다고 할지라도 자기(自己) 케어 즉 자신의 건강을 자기 스스로 돌보고 지키며 선교사역에 매진할 수 있도록 구체적인 실천 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 또다시 선교사가 건강문제로 선교지를 포기하는 상황이 벌어져서는 안 될 것이다.

As the recent COVID-19 pandemic continues and new mutant viruses develop, the world remains in a crisis. However, the missionary mission of the church must continue under all circumstances. Therefore, it is time to focus more on missionary member care so that there is no hindrance to the missionary’s work. However, when the border was closed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Korean churches and sending organizations had limited to no special measures for the health of missionaries and their families infected with COVID-19. He did not give any practical help and only prayed for good health. The meaning of missionary member care that had been carried out so far was insignificant. From this perspective, this study intends to examine the definition and necessity of missionary member care on the premise of the justification and examine its limitations. And as an alternative to overcome the limitation, the missionary himself has the concept of holistic healing and proposes a practical method applied in any unexpected situation. The intent of the method is to find concrete action plans to take protect our own health and focus on missionary work in case a new infectious disease spreads in the post-Corona era. There should be no situation where missionaries give up their mission field due to health problems again.
