1974년 스위스 로잔에서 “세계복음화로잔위원회”(The Lausanne Committee on World Evangelization)가 처음 개최된 후, 1989년 2차 총회가 필리핀 마닐라에서 열렸고, 2010년 3차 총회가 남아공 케이프 타운에서 개최되었다. 그리고 로잔운동 50주년이 되는 2024년 대한민국 인천 송도컨벤시아 컨벤션센터에서 9월 22일부터 28일까지 희년대회로 4차 총회가 개최된다. 아직 4차 총회의 공식주제가 확정되지 않은 상태이 지만 총회와 관련된 글과 문서를 통해 정리해보면 논의될 주제들은 다음과 같다. 하나는 청년리더 세대(Younger Leaders Gathering)의 참여와 역할의 확대, 다른 하나는 ‘다중심적’(polycentric) 선교와 리더십 그리고 마지막으로 교회와 선교관계의 재고로써 선교적 교회(missional church)로 정리된다. 4차 총회를 준비하는 한국교회의 과제로는 ‘온전한 복음’(the whole Gospel)과 ‘온 교회’(the whole church)의 회복, ‘행동 을 통한 실천’(Through Action)이라고 할 수 있다.

This paper examines the discussion themes for the upcoming 4th Lausanne Congress, to be held in Incheon, South Korea in 2024, and the tasks of Korean churches in preparation for the event. The Lausanne Movement on World Evangelization was launched with its first meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1974, followed by the 2nd congress in Manila, Philippines in 1989, and the 3rd congress in Cape Town, South Africa in 2010. The 4th congress will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Lausanne Movement. While the main themes for the 4th congress have not yet been finalized, discussions will center around the expansion of the participation and role of the Younger Leaders Gathering, the concept of “polycentric” mission and leadership, and the missional church as a rethinking of the church-mission relationship.
