본 연구는 수치지도에 표기되어 있는 하천명의 불일치 현황을 파악하였다. 이를 위해 실폭하천 연속수치지형도와 1:25,000 축척의 수치지형도, 하천관리지리정보시스템, 하천명 표지판 등 하천명과 관련된 다양한 정보를 비교･분석하였다. 연구지역은 충청남도 일대 7개의 중권역 유역이다. 연구 결과 연구지역 내에 22개 지점의 하천명이 지도 간에 불일치하는 것으로 확인되었다. 주요한 불일치 유형은 두 가지로 구분하였다. 하나는 하천 전체의 이름이 상이한 경우이고, 다른 하나는 하천의 상류 또는 하류에서 본류와 지류의 이름이 서로 바뀐 경우이다. 하천명의 불일치는 하천명의 오기에 의해 발생하고 있었으며, 이러한 오기는 자료의 유형과 관계없이 발견되었다. 오기 사례 수는 실폭하천 연속수치지형도에서 가장 많았고, 하천관리지리정보시스템에서 가장 적었다. 연구의 결과는 다른 지역에서도 하천명 오기 가능성을 조사할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 이 연구는 연구지역의 하천명을 수정한 실폭하천 연속수치지형도를 제시하였다.

In order to grasp the current status of discrepancies in river names marked on digital maps, this study compared various data related to river names, such as a digital river map, digital topographic maps of 1:25,000 scale, river information management system, and river name signs. The study area was 7 basins that covered the Chungcheongnam-do in South Korea. As a result, there were discrepancies in the river names of 22 cases in the study area. The types of discrepancies can be divided into mainly two types. One is the case where different names are given to the entire river, and the other is the case where the names of the mainstream and tributaries are exchanged in the upper or lower reaches of the river. The discrepancies in river names were caused by errors in river names, and these errors were found regardless of the type of data. Error cases in river names occurred the most in the digital river map and the least in the river information management system. The results suggest that it is also necessary to investigate the possibility of errors in river names elsewhere in Korea. Furthermore, this study provided a river map with corrected river names in the study area.
