본 연구는 코칭의 태동에 영향을 준 코칭학의 학문적 이론과 철학에 대한 선 행연구를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 코칭의 폭넓은 확산과 함께 그 활용도 가 높아지면서 다양한 이론적 배경을 조사하여 코칭학의 학문적 이론과 철학이 체계적이고 명료화된 학문인지에 대한 인식과 연구들이 필요하다. 본 연구를 위 해 현장에서 활동 중인 전문 코치들을 대상으로 설문과 국내외 코칭 관련 학교 들의 코칭 교육과정, 교육과목 들을 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 지금까지 코칭학이 꾸 준히 학문의 한 분야로 발전해 오면서 코칭의 이론과 철학이 학문으로서 명확하 게 규명되고 체계가 정립된 상태에서 출발했다기보다는 적용되고 있는 대다수 의 이론과 철학이 코칭의 발전과정 속에서 다양한 형태로 융복합되어 재생산되 면서 코칭이 확대되고 확장되어 가고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 코칭 의 이론과 철학에 대한 깊은 인식이 다소 부족하다고 판단되었다. 따라서 향후 다양한 후속 연구들을 통해 코칭학이 명료하고 체계적인 학문적 이론과 철학을 갖춘 학문으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 기초자료를 제공하는데, 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to explore prior research on the academic theories and philosophies of coaching that influenced the birth of coaching. As coaching spreads widely and its utilization increases, it is necessary to investigate various theoretical backgrounds and recognize and research whether the academic theory and philosophy of coaching is a systematic and clear discipline. For this study, we surveyed professional coaches active in the field and explored the coaching curriculum and subjects of coaching-related schools at home and abroad. As a result, as coaching studies has steadily developed as a field of study, most of the theories and philosophies being applied have contributed to the development of coaching, rather than starting from a state where the theories and philosophies of coaching were clearly identified and a system was established as an academic discipline. It was confirmed that coaching was expanding and expanding as it was converged and reproduced in various forms during the process. Additionally, it was judged that a deep understanding of coaching theory and philosophy was somewhat lacking. Therefore, the significance of this study is to provide basic data so that coaching can be established as a discipline with clear and systematic academic theories and philosophy through various follow-up studies in the future.
