본 논문의 연구문제는 중학생의 외모만족도와 또래관계가 학교생활적응에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 것인가로 설정하였다. 가설 1은 중학생의 외모만족도가 또래관계에 영향을 미칠 것이며, 가설 2 는 중학생의 외모만족도가 학교생활적응에 영향을 미칠 것이다. 연구대상자는 경기도 안산과 화성 지역 중학교 1～3학년 남녀학생들이다. 질문지는 총 250부를 배부하고 225부를 회수하였으며 220부를 SPSS Statistics 22 통계프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과에 의한 결론은 다음과 같다. 중학생의 외모만족도(가설 1)와 또래관계(가설 2)가 학교생활적응에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나 타났다. 외모만족도와 또래관계가 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 모든 F검정이 유의 미하게 나와 회귀모형이 모두 적합한 것으로 판단되었다. 따라서 중학생들의 학교생활적응을 높이 기 위해서 학생 스스로 외모에 대해 자신감을 가지고 만족도를 높이도록 하는 방안과 긍정적 또래 관계를 형성하도록 하는 방안을 더욱 강구하여야 할 것이다.

This study is to find the influence of appearance satisfaction and peer relationship, investigate the relationship among variables and suggest desirable proposal on junior high school adaptation. The appearance satisfaction and peer relationship on junior high school is set as a research problem to solve this case study. The first hypothesis isthat appearance satisfaction will have an effect on junior high school students. The second hypothesis is that appearance satisfaction will have an effect on junior high school adaptation and this test result is credible because test variables' credibility were above 0.6 of Cronbach's a value. Test subjects were boys and girls of 7th~9th junior high school students in Hwasung, Ansan, Kyungko-do. Targeting on these subjects, the questionnaires were distributed on July 1st 2015 through July 20th 2015 and results were documented and returned after 20 days. Out of 250 questionnaires, 225 were returned and 220 questionnaires were analyzed through statistic program, SPSS Statistics 22. Conclusion of the analysis results are as follow. Junior high school students' appearance satisfaction (Hypothesis #1) and peer relationship (Hypothesis #2) do have an effect on junior high school adaptation. Analytical results of appearance satisfaction and peer relationship on junior high school adaptation is as appropriate because level of F-Test is .000 which means a suitable regression model. In Song’s (2008) reports, relationship with friends has significant effect on school life adaptation because students spend most of their time in school. In Jung, Moon (2007)’s reports, it also explain how positive relationship with peers, teachers, teachers’ expectation on students have significant influence on school life adaptation. Therefore, in order for junior high school students to enhance their school life adaptation, students need to satisfy themselves through self-confidence and create positive relationship among school peers.
