본 연구는 대한민국의 대중음악이 전 세계적으로 주목받는 케이팝 산업으로 발전하게 되는 과정 에서 해외 프로듀서의 역할과 비중이 어떻게 변화했는지를 2010년대와 2020년대를 중심으로 분석 하였다. 케이팝의 발전기인 2010년대에는 해외 프로듀서들이 주로 작곡과 편곡 단계에 제한적으 로 참여했지만, 전 세계적인 영향력을 행사하기 시작한 2020년대에 들어서는 단순히 작곡만의 영 역이 아닌 사운드 디자인, 보컬 프로듀싱, 콘셉트 기획에 이르기까지 전반적인 제작 과정에 깊이 관여하게 된 현상을 조명하였다. 이러한 변화는 온라인을 통한 디지털 협업 기술과 송라이팅 캠 프, 퍼블리싱 플랫폼의 발달과 맞물려 있다. 해외 프로듀서의 도입으로 인하여 케이팝 사운드의 장르적 다양성과 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화한 반면, 케이팝 고유의 정체성에 대한 논의도 심화되었다. 본 연구는 2010년대와 2020년대 두 시기의 비교 분석을 통해 해외 프로듀서가 케이팝의 음악적 진화와 글로벌화된 제작 구조에 어떻게 기여했는지를 조명하고, 글로벌 협업과 지역적 정체성 사 이의 균형을 모색하는 데 실질적인 시사점을 제시하였다. 또한 케이팝의 음악적 진화와 해외 인재 활용 전략을 조망하고, 향후 케이팝 산업의 발전을 위한 방향성과 비전을 제시하였다.
This study examines the evolving roles and significance of foreign producers in the transformation of South Korea's popular music into the globally recognized K-pop industry, with a focus on the 2010s and 2020s. During the developmental phase of K-pop in the 2010s, foreign producers were primarily involved in limited aspects such as composition and arrangement. However, in the 2020s-when K-pop began exerting substantial cultural influence worldwide-their participation has expanded significantly to include sound design, vocal production, and concept planning, thus engaging deeply in the entire production process. This shift has been driven by the advancement of digital collaboration technologies, the proliferation of songwriting camps, and the emergence of global publishing platforms. While these developments have contributed to the genre diversification and global competitiveness of K-pop, they have also intensified discourse surrounding the preservation of K-pop's unique identity. Through a comparative analysis of these changes and trends, this study aims to explore the musical evolution of K-pop and its strategies for utilizing international talent, ultimately proposing future directions and visions for the continued growth of the K-pop industry.
