익산시 용안생태습지공원은 4대강 사업의 일환으로 조성된 대규모 습지공원으로서 생태적 보전과 관 광지로서의 잠재력을 동시에 지닌 공간이다. 본 연구는 용안생태습지공원을 지방정원으로 지정하기 위한 기본계획을 수립하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 지방정원 및 국가정원의 지정요건과 사례, 지역여건·자연 및 인문환경을 분석하였으며, 이를 토대로 공간구상과 기본계획을 수립하였다. 공간구 상은 핵심구역(천년의 늪), 완충구역(천년의 들), 협력구역(천년의 정원)으로 구성되었다. 핵심구역은 금강의 생태적 가치와 자연경관을 보전하며, 조류 관찰과 억새 체험 등 생태 체험 활동을 중심으로 계획 되었다. 완충구역은 캠핑정원, 생태정원, 수확정원 등을 통해 주민참여와 교육적 가치를 강화하였다. 협력구역은 백제정원, 숲정원, 물의 정원 등 주제정원을 포함하여 역사·문화적 체험과 계절별 축제 및 정원박람회 개최를 위한 커뮤니티 공간으로 계획되었다. 또한 침수피해를 고려해 수순환 시스템 구축, 수종 선정, 포장 및 시설물 채택 및 대응체계를 마련하였다. 본 연구는 용안생태습지공원이 지방정원으 로 지정되어 지역관광의 중심지로 자리 잡으며, 나아가 국가정원으로 도약할 수 있는 기틀을 마련하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

The Yongan Ecological Wetland Park in Iksan City is a large-scale wetland park established as part of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project. It holds significant potential for both ecological conservation and tourism. This study aims to develop a basic plan to designate the Yongan Ecological Wetland Park as a local garden. To achieve this, the study analyzed the designation requirements and case studies of local and national gardens, as well as the site's regional conditions, natural environment, and cultural context. Based on these analyses, a spatial framework and a basic plan were proposed. The spatial framework is divided into three zones: the core zone (Millennial Swamp), the buffer zone (Millennial Field), and the collaborative zone (Millennial Garden). The core zone focuses on preserving the ecological value and natural landscape of the Geum River, with an emphasis on ecological experiences such as birdwatching and reed observation. The buffer zone enhances community engagement and educational value through spaces such as camping gardens, ecological gardens, and harvest gardens. The collaborative zone includes thematic gardens, such as the Baekje Garden, Forest Garden, and Water Garden, offering opportunities for historical and cultural experiences. It also serves as a community space for seasonal festivals and garden exhibitions. Flood prevention measures were incorporated into the design, including the implementation of a water circulation system, the selection of flood-tolerant plant species, and the adoption of adaptive paving and infrastructure. This study provides a foundational plan for the designation of Yongan Ecological Wetland Park as a local garden, positioning it as a central hub for regional tourism. Furthermore, it establishes a framework for the park’s future advancement to the status of a national garden.
