The purpose of this study is to identify the research trends of various herbal medicines used to relieve menopausal symptoms and herbal medicines used in animal models and to present efficient herbal treatments for menopausal symptoms. This paper searched for using the keyword 'Menopause' in the Korean research database. Korean research databases were Research Information Service System(RISS), Korean Studies Information Service System(KISS), National Assembly Library and National Library of Korea. After analyzing 75 studies treated as herbal medicine, we categorized them into two types : herbal medicine and animal testing. According to a study treated with herbal medicine, So-yo-san(逍遥散) was used the most and Sa-mul-tang(四物湯) was used the most in animals models. Oriental medicine treatments for menopausal women are being implemented and further research in the future will need to improve the quality of life for women in menopausal years by conducting various and objective research on oriental medicine.
