아트 마스크는 메이크업의 한 분야로 아티스트의 예술적 창의성을 표현하는 예술작품이다. 이러한 아트 마스크는 메이크업 분야의 핵심 요소로 자리잡고 있으며 그에 따른 다양한 연구 가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 아르누보 양식의 선두자인 알폰스 무하의 작품 특성을 활용하여 아트 마스크 디자인을 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 인터넷, 선행연구, 전문서적을 토대로 이론 적 자료를 수집하였으며 이를 바탕으로 알폰스 무하의 작품 특성을 장식성, 자연성으로 분류 하였다. 또한 각 특성이 잘 드러난 작품 4점을 선정하고 이를 활용하여 아트 마스크에 특성 별 2작품씩 작품 제작하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 알폰스 무하의 장식성, 자연 성 특성을 활용한 디자인은 아트 마스크에 적용 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 알폰스 무하 만의 화려한 색채, 섬세한 디테일, 선명한 윤곽선 등의 표현기법은 아트 마스크에 표현하기 적합했으며 아트 마스크의 다양성과 예술성을 보여주었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로, 아트 마스크의 창조적 디자인 발상을 위한 방법론을 제시하였으며 예술작품을 기반으로 한 아트 마스크와의 융합 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

Art masks are a form of makeup that expresses the artist's artistic creativity, turning it into a work of art. These art masks have become a core element in the field of makeup, and therefore, various studies related to them are necessary. The purpose of this study is to research art mask design by utilizing the characteristics of Alphonse Mucha's works, a leader of the Art Nouveau style. Theoretical data were collected based on the internet, previous studies, and specialized books. Based on this, the characteristics of Alphonse Mucha's works were classified into decorativeness and naturalness. Additionally, four works that prominently feature each characteristic were selected, and two works for each characteristic were used to create art masks. The results of this study are as follows. First, the design utilizing the decorativeness and naturalness characteristics of Alphonse Mucha was found to be applicable to art masks. Second, Alphonse Mucha's unique expression techniques such as brilliant colors, delicate details, and clear outlines were suitable for application to art masks, demonstrating the diversity and artistry of art masks. Based on these research results, a methodology for creative design ideas for art masks was presented, confirming the possibility of integrating art masks with artworks based on Alphonse Mucha's designs.
