본 연구는 인공지능과의 협업이 개인의 의사결정 속도에 미치는 영향을 규명하고, 이 과정에서 성과기대(Performance Expectancy)와 우유부단함(Indecisiveness)이 수행하는 조절 역할을 검증하였다. 이를 위해 233명의 대학(원)생을 대상으로 비트코인 가격 예측 및 매각 실험을 실시하여, 총 2,046개의 유효한 의사결정 관측치를 수집 및 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, AI와의 협업은 개인의 의사결정 소요시간을 유의하게 단축시키는 것으로 나타나, AI 활용이 의사결정 효율성을 제고하는 핵심적인 기제임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 우유부단함은 AI 협업과 의사결정 속도 간의 관계를 유의하게 조절하였다. 우유부단함이 낮은 개인은 AI를 통해 유의미한 속도 향상을 보인 반면, 우유부단함이 높은 개인은 AI의 제안을 검증이 필요한 추가적 대안으로 인식하여 반복 검토함에 따라 가속 효과가 상쇄되었다. 셋째, 성과기대는 의사결정 속도에 유의한 정의 영향을 미쳤으나, AI 협업 효과를 강화하는 조절 역할은 수행하지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과는 AI 도입 성과가 사용자의 심리적 특성에 따라 다르게 나타날 수 있음을 시사하며, 실무적 으로는 개인차를 고려한 맞춤형 AI 협업 전략 수립의 필요성을 강조한다.
This study investigates the impact of human AI collaboration on individual decision-making speed and the psychological traits that govern this relationship. Through a controlled experiment based on 2,046 individual observations nested within 233 participants, we find that AI collaboration significantly accelerates decision-making, highlighting its potential to enhance cognitive efficiency. However, this efficiency gain is not uniform; indecisiveness significantly moderates the effect by attenuating the acceleration gain. Specifically, highly indecisive individuals perceive AI suggestions as additional information requiring repetitive verification, thereby offsetting the time-saving benefits. In contrast, while performance expectancy directly influences speed, it does not yield a significant moderating role. These findings identify indecisiveness as a critical boundary condition and underscore the importance of accounting for psychological heterogeneity in AI-enabled organizational workflows.
