This study investigated the effects of dietary synbiotics composed of Lactobacillus rhamnosus(1.0×10⁹ CFU/g) and inulin on the growth performance and physiological responses of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The initial body weight is 35.5 ± 0.6 g, and the initial total length was 14.6 ± 0.1 cm. The fish were cultured in a recirculating aquaculture system and randomly assigned to four dietary treatment groups: control (0%), 0.5%, 1.5%, and 2.5% synbiotics. The fish were fed twice daily (09:00 and 18:00) at 5% of their body weight. Sampling and measurements were conducted at 0 (initial), 28, and 56 days. The survival rate was significantly lower in the control group (P<0.05). Growth parameters, including growth rate for body length, body weight, growth rate for total length(GRL), growth rate for body weight(GRW), average daily gain(ADG), and condition factor, were higher in control group, lower in the 2.5 groups, although no significant differences were observed among the treatments (P>0.05). Hematological parameters (RBC and Ht) showed no significant differences among all treatments (P>0.05). However, 56 day, a significant increase in Hb was observed in the 2.5 group. Similarly, biochemical indices (alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), total protein (TP), triglyceride (TG), and total cholesterol (TCHO)) were not significantly affected (P>0.05). However, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was significantly lower in the 2.5 and control groups (P<0.05), and ALP showed a significant decrease in the 1.5 group. GLU levels were significantly lower in the 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 groups compared with the control (P<0.05). Histological observations of the intestine revealed no noticeable differences among treatments. Villus length and goblet cell counts in the proximal intestine is showed no significant differences among groups. These results suggest that excessive supplementation of synbiotics may suppress the growth of common carp, without significantly affecting hematological, biochemical (BUN, TP, TCHO, and TG), or histological parameters. The higher glucose (GLU) level observed in the control group indicates that synbiotic supplementation may confer some immunological benefits to the fish.
