A Study on Sustainable Dance Production Systems based on Pre-visualization
As the climate crisis necessitates an ecological transition in performing arts, this study explores sustainable dance production via Pre-visualization (Pre-vi) technology. Grounded in Laban’s 'Kinesphere,' this research analyzes how Pre-vi satisfies both ecological rationality and aesthetic scalability. Findings indicate: First, Pre-vi structurally intercepts material waste and energy consumption through high-fidelity simulation. Second, per global benchmarks like 『The Theatre Green Book』, digital prototyping reduces material waste by 10-15% and streamlines field setup by up to 70%. Third, a ‘Circular Digital Production Model’ was developed to overcome domestic limitations through data-driven workflows. This study demonstrates that Pre-vi enhances immaterial aesthetics while securing the ethical legitimacy of artistic production.
