1998년 9월 30일부터 10월 7일에 걸쳐서 강원도 동강 유역인 정선군 정선읍 귤암리, 정선읍 가수리, 신동읍 운치리, 신동읍 고성리, 신동읍 덕천리 등 5개 지역에서 투망으로 포획한 담수어 11종, 178마리를 대상으로 인공 소화액법을 이용하여 Metagonimus 속의 피낭유충에 의한 감염률을 조사하였다. 감염률은 퉁가리 (Liobagrus andersoni) 91.7% (l1/12), 돌상어 (Gobiobotia brevibarba) 75.0%
