이 연구의 목적은 한국코칭학회가 발간하는 코칭연구 학술지 논문의 연구 동 향을 파악하여 향후 코칭연구의 시사점을 제공하는 것이다. 연구 방법은 학술지 코칭연구를 2008년부터 2020년까지 13년간 발행된 논문 224편을 분석 틀에 따라 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구자 2명이 투고한 논문이 120명(54%)으로 가장 많았다. 둘째, 연구 자 소속의 경우 전체 395명 중 학교가 356명(90%)이다. 기업체, 공공기관, 민간 연구소에서 투고한 논문은 전체 10% 정도이다. 셋째, 양적연구가 101편(45%)으 로 가장 많았으며, 실천연구 59편(26%), 질적연구 13편(6%)으로 나타났다. 넷째, 연구 대상별 현황 분석 결과 성인이 122편(54%)으로 가장 많았다. 다섯째, 다른 분야의 논문이 91편(41%), 코칭 이론과 실천 83편(37%), 비즈니스 13편 (6%), 학습 12편(5%), 부모 10편 (4%), 라이프 6편(3%), 청소년 4편(2%), 커리어 3편(1%) 순으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 코칭 적용 분야에서 코칭 이론과 실천이 많은 부분은 고무적이다. 코칭이 학문적으로 정착하는데 필요한 이론적인 논문들과 코칭을 현실 상황에 적용하기 위한 다양한 프로그램 개발과 코칭의 효과성 적용과 관련된 논문들이 많이 등장한 것은 코칭연구가 확대되고 심화된 측면이다. 그러나 코칭 적용 분야를 보면 비즈니스, 개인 라이프, 스포츠, 임원, 커리어, 크리스천, 가족, 부모, 청소년, 학습 등 다양하게 연구가 되지 못한 부분이 아쉽다. 향후 코칭 연구에서 코칭을 다양한 분야에서 적용한 논문들이 많이 나오기를 기대해 본다.

The purpose of this study is to outline the implications for future coaching research by identifying research trends in coaching research journal articles published by the Korean Coaching Association. Regarding the research method, 224 papers published between 2008 and 2020 were analyzed according to the framework adopted in this study. The research results are as follows. First, the number of published papers authored by two researchers was 120 (54%). Second, 356 (90%) of the 395 researchers were affiliated with a university faculty. Papers submitted by corporations, public institutions, and private research institutes accounted for approximately 10% of the total. Third, 101 quantitative studies were conducted, which constituted the largest number of studies (45%), followed by 59 practical studies (26%), and 13 qualitative studies (6%). Fourth, an analysis of the status of each study topic revealed that the topic of most studies focused on adults with 122 articles (54%). Fifth, out of all papers included in the study, 91 (41%) focused on other fields, 83 (37%) addressed coaching theory and practice, 13 focused on business (6%), 12 investigated learning (5%), 10 examined parenting (4%), six addressed films about life (3%), four focused on youth films (2%), and three explored career films (1%). Sixth, our findings that many coaching theories and practices exist in the coaching application field is encouraging. The appearance of numerous papers, theoretically oriented ones allowing coaching to become an academically established topic and those on the development of various applied coaching programs and their effectiveness, reveals that coaching research is expanding and deepening. However, while surveying the applied coaching field, the researcher deems unfortunate in the absence of studies on topics such as business, personal life, sports, executives, careers, Christianity, families, parents, youth, and learning. In future coaching research, numerous papers that apply coaching in various fields, should be considered.
