본고는 서정주 시에 나타난 화해와 초월에 관하여 고찰하였다. 서정주의 시에는 비극적 요소가 다분히 존재하고 있으나 결국 그의 시는 화해와 초월의 세계를 지향하고 있었다. ‘Ⅱ. 결핍에 대한 발견과 비극의 인식’에서는 결핍에 대한 발견을 통한 비극의 인식에 관하여 논의하였고, ‘Ⅲ. 신성한 자연의 형상과 화해 의 지향’에서는 신성한 자연의 모습 속에 깃든 화해에 관하여 논의하였고, ‘Ⅳ. 제의적 공동체의 구현과 초월의 의지’에서는 제의적 공동체의 구현을 통한 초월의 의지에 관하여 논의하였다. 요컨대 서정주는 결핍을 통하여 비극을 인식하였고, 자연을 통하여 화해를 지향하였고, 공동체를 통하여 초월의 의지를 함양하였다. 화해와 초월은 긍정적 세계관과 이어진다. 본고는 서정주 시에 나타난 긍정의 미학을 탐색하 는 데에 이바지할 것이다.

This paper examines the transcendence and reconciliation that appeared in Seo Jeong-ju's poems. There are many tragic elements in Seo Jeong-ju's poems. However, what they eventually aim at is a world of reconciliation. ‘Ⅱ. Discovery of Deficiency and Perception of Tragedy’ discussed the perception of tragedy through discovery of deficiency. Seo Jeong-ju recognized the tragedy through lack. ‘Ⅲ. Shape of Sacred Nature and Inclination of Reconciliation’ discussed the reconciliation contained in the image of sacred nature. Seo Jeong-ju aimed for reconciliation through nature. ‘Ⅳ. Realization of Ritual Community and a Will to Transcend’ discussed a will to transcend through the realization of a ritual community. Seo Jeong-ju maximized transcendence through communities. This paper will contribute to exploring the aesthetics of positivity that appeared in Seo Jeong-ju's poems and it hoped there will be more research on this.
