우리나라 헌법 31조 5항에 의하여 “국가는 평생 교육을 진흥하여야 한다. 라고 명시되 어 있으며, 교육 기본법 제3조에도 모든 국민은 평생에 걸쳐 학습하고, 능력과 적성에 따 라 교육받을 권리를 가진다.”라고 하여 평생에 걸친 학습이 국만의 권리임을 지적하고 있다. 즉, 사람은 태어나서면서부터 죽을때까지 배워야 하며 또한 가정, 학교, 사회 등 사 람이 생활하는 모든 장소에서 학습이 이루어져야 한다는 것으로, 결국 평생교육이념은 교육에 있어서 최상위 개념으로 인식되어야 한다는 것이다. 오늘날 우리는 지식기반사회 를 맞아 인간의 수명은 연장되는 반면, 지식의 생명주기는 날이 갈수록 짧아지는 시대에 살고 있다. 이제 학교 교육만으로는 기하급수적으로 증가하는 지식과 정보의 습득을 공 급하기에는 한계를 맞고 있기에 우리사회는 각자가 생애에 걸쳐 배우고 익혀야 하는 평 생학습사회에 접어 들었다. 본 연구는 한국 고령사회의 노인 평생교육 연구를 통하여 평생교육 동향을 탐색하여 노인평생교육 활동에 있어서의 문제를 추출하고 추출된 문제해결 대안을 제시함으로써 노인 평생교육 활성활를 위한 기본방향을 제시하는 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 구체적인 연구 범위는 다음과 같다 첫째, 노인평생교육의 일반적 의미로써 노인교육의 의의와 중요성, 사회변화에 따른 노인평생교육의 의미와 필요성, 평생교육기관 등을 살펴보겠다. 둘째, 우리나라 노인의 이해를 통한 평생교육의 학습동기 및 욕구를 고찰해보겠다. 셋째, 노인평생교육의 문제 점을 진단하고 이를 해결을 위한 발전방향을 제시하겠다.

It is mentioned in Korean constitution clause 31.5 that "Country shall promote continuing education." and the Fundamentals of Education Act clause 3 also is saying that “ All people have right to study some subjects over the whole life and be educated as per their abilities and aptitudes. ”. This indicates that lifelong learning is the right of people. It means that people shall learn from birth to death and learning in all locations where people are living such as home, school, society. Finally ideology of lifelong learning shall be considered as the concept of the highest rank. Nowadays we face knowledge based society. The period of human life is increasing on the other hand the period of life cycle of the knowledge become shortening. Currently there is a limitation for the supply of acquisition of the geometrically increasing knowledge and information through school education. So it is time getting into the lifelong learning society hence we need to learn knowledge and information over the whole life. The purpose of this research is proposing the basic direction for the activation of Lifelong education for the elderly by suggesting solutions against the problems relating to Lifelong education for the elderly extracted through research of the Lifelong education for the elderly aged society of Korea . Specific range of this search is mentioned as below. First, the meaning of education for the elderly and importance as a general meaning the elderly aged society and necessity, institution of lifelong education as per the change of society Second, academic motivation and consideration of desire of lifelong education by understanding the Korean eldery Third, diagnosis of the Lifelong education problems and suggestion of the direction of improvement for the solutions
