We report a rare case of intraosseous epidermoid cyst in mandibular body. A non symptomatic patient without trauma history had a cystic lesion on mandible close to the third molar. The lesion was enucleated while extracting of left lower third molar. The microscopic findings were consistent with an epidermoid cyst. Key words:Epidermoid Cyst, Intraosseous, Mandible

Purpose: The physical and optical characteristics for copolymers produced by adding 3-Iodoaniline and 3-chloroaniline to the various monomers commonly used for ophthalmic contact lenses were investigated. Methods: The basic hydrogel ophthalmic lens material with addition of 3-Iodoaniline and 3-chloroaniline respectively were polymerized by heating at 80℃ for 20 mins, and then 110 ℃ for 40 mins. To produce contact lenses, a cast mould method was used. The produced contact lenses samples underwent the pre-process by being hydrated in 0.9% NaCl saline for 24 hours. Afterward, their physical and optical properties were measured. Results: The results showed that the average value of refractive index increased and the water content decreased as the ratio of additive increased. The measurement of the optical transmittance of the copolymerized polymer with addition 3-Iodoaniline showed that the transmittance for visible ray, UV-B and UV A is 89.4~90.8%, 2.0~15.2% and 40.6~67.8%, respectively. Also, for samples with addition 3-Iodoaniline, the transmittance for visible ray, UV-B and UV-A was in the range of 89.8~90.6%, 5.0~22.2% and 57.6~73.8% respectively. Conclusions: It is expected that the results would contribute to a wider application of contact lenses containing aniline group which are to be used as ultraviolet ray blocking contact lenses.

We develop a radio receiver system operating at λ ~ 1.3 mm for the 6 m telescope of Seoul Radio Astronomy Observatory. It consists of a dual polarization receiver, a couple of IF processing units, two FFT spectrometers, and associated software. By adopting sideband-separating superconductor mixers with image band terminated to waveguide load at 4.2 K, we achieve TRX ≤ 100 K and Tsys less than 150 K at best weather condition over 210-250 GHz frequency range. The intermediate frequency signal of 3.5-4.5 GHz is down converted to 0-1 GHz and fed into the FFT spectrometers. The spectrometer covers 1 GHz bandwidth with a spectral resolution of 61 KHz. Test observations are conducted toward several radio sources to evaluate the performance of the system. Aperture and beam efficiencies measured by observing planets are found to be typically 44 59% and 47 61%, respectively over the RF band, which are consistent with those measured at 3 mm band previously.

We present 12CO J = 2-1 line observations of G54.1+0.3, a composite supernova remnant with a mid-infrared (MIR) loop surrounding the central pulsar wind nebula (PWN). We map an area of 12′×9′ around the PWN and its associated MIR loop. We confirm two velocity components that have been proposed to be possibly interacting with the PWN/MIR-loop; the +53 km s−1 cloud, which appears in contact with the eastern boundary of the PWN and the +23 km s−1 cloud, which has CO emission coincident with the MIR loop. However, we have not found a direct evidence for the interaction in either of these clouds. Instead, we detected an 5'-long arc-like cloud at +15-+23 km s−1 with a systematic velocity gradient of ~3 km s−1 arcmin−1 and broad-line emitting CO gas with widths (FWHM) of ≤7kms−1 in the western interior of the supernova remnant. We discuss their association with the supernova remnant.

We tried to introduce two forsythia genes related in lignan biosynthesis, dirigent protein and pinoresinol/lariciresinol (Ph) reductase, into potatoes for accumulation of lignans in transgenic potatoes. We made binary vectors overexpressing dirigent protein gene and P/L reductase gene driven by a CaMV35S promoter and transformed into potatoes via Agrobacterium mediated transformation. And in order to control the metabolic flux of lignan biosynthesis pathway, we tried to inhibit chalcone synthase genes of potatoes by antisense inhibition technique also. We tried to use PCR screening method for selection of transgenic plants of different vectors. We tried to determine and compare lignan contents from different transgenic potato lines.
