This study is an analysis of Umberto Eco's novel, The Name of the Rose, about poetry, space and truth. To analyze the discourse of the novel, the time hierarchy was approached in depth by dividing it into objects and subjects, time and worldviews, viewing medieval monastery space as a symbol, and analyzing the semantic effects of Charles Sanders Peirce and Roland Gérard Barthes semiotics. In addition, the value system for truth was to be analyzed as a Algirdas Julien Greimas. As a result of the study, first, the time hierarchy provided various interpretation pleasure to the reader by placing symbols and symbols through the pastille technique. Second, the spatial symbols of the library were solemn and pious, but they appeared as symbols as closed spaces to distort truth and prevent access to truth. In particular, the complex maze had two sides: truth and cover-up by revealing the unique duality of monk life. Third, the analysis of the discourse on Clear, Heresy, and laughter showed that the value system of Truth projected into medieval society was still presented today as a discourse that distorts objects through power devices of knowledge and interferes with thought systems. This study is meaningful in expanding the discourse on truth by drawing readers to the worldview of today's readers, not just from the medieval Christian worldview.
