In urban areas in Korea, cherry trees belonging to genus Prunus are one of abundant trees. In this study, damage rates and characteristics caused by Synanthedon bicingulata (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) and Aromia bungii (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in cherry trees were investigated. Entrance holes of S. icingulata larvae were found from the most cherry trees planted along road-side verges irrespective of tree ages, while Entrance holes of A. bungii larvae were generally found from old trees above 30 cm in diameter at breast height, especially planted on dry environments, such as pavement roads, wood deck and so on.
