This paper examines photographs documenting Nam June Paik's performance in front of Zen for Film by Peter Moore and TV Buddha with the artist captured by Eric Kroll. These archival images, featuring Paik alongside his works, reveal his intentional gaze and approach to building a relationship with the screen. While fragmentary, these photographs convey Paik's deliberate attitude toward his art. Drawing on Graham Harman's concept of the art-object, the study argues that these images form a hybrid object uniting the artwork and the audience (including the artist as a viewer). This hybrid facilitates authentic immersion between perceiver and sensory object, offering insights into artistic experience. The paper concludes that these documented photographs provide a framework for future audiences to engage with Paik's works and expand the art-object concept to include both audience and creator, enriching artistic analysis.
