발아율이 저조한 한지형 잔디인 Kentucky bluegrass 와 Tall fescue종자를 식물생장조절제인 GA3와 BAP를 처리하여 발아율을 극대화시킬 수 있는 최적 처리조건을 구명하였다. Kentucky bluegrass 초종에서는 GA3 처리는 농도에 관계없이 BAP 단독 또는 및 GA3와 BAP혼용처리보다 발아증진 효과가 높았으며, 처리기간은 6일 처리가 3일 처리보다 좋았다. 따라서 최적 처리조건은 GA3 1000μM농도로 6일간 처리였으며, 무처리보다 발아율을 10~38% 향상시킬 수 있었다. Tall fescue 종자는 생장조절제를 처리하면 발아율이 향상되는 경향이나 현저한 수준은 아니었다. 최적 생장조절제 처리조건은 GA3 1000μM용액으로 3일간 처리였는데, 무처리 종자에서 비해 발아율을 10%증진시켰다. GA3 처리된 Kentucky bluegrass와 Tall fescue 종자는 묘출현율이 무처리에 비해 8~9% 향상되었고, 묘출현속도는 1.2일 빨랐다. 또한 건물 중, 초장 및 뿌리생장 등 초기생육이 무처리에 비해 향상되었으나, 유의성은 인정되지 않았다.

This study was carried out to find the optimum treatment condition for the improving germination using the plant growth regulators with GA3 and BAP, to Kentucky bluegrass and Tall fescue showing low germination. GA3 treatment was more effective on the germination of Kentucky bluegrass than BAP single treatment or the combination treatment of GA3 and BAP, regardless of their treatment concentration. Seed germinability was 6 days treatment was significantly better than that of 3 days treatment in the experiment for treatment period of the plant growth regulators. When seeds were treated with 1000μM of GA3 for 6 days, on the percent germination was improved as much as between 10% and 38% comparing with the control. In Tall fescue seed, the percent germination was not significantly improved, although it was slightly increased when the plant growth regulators were treated. For the optimum condition, on percent germination was improved as much as 10% comparing with the control of Tall fescue treated with 1000μM of GA3 for 3 days. Percent emergence fur the seeds of Kentucky bluegrass and Tall fescue treated GA3 in the field was improved as much as 8~9% comparing with the control, and mean emergence time (E50) was also faster for 1~2 days than that of the control. However, dry weight, plant height and root length showed no significant effects, although those were slightly improved more than those of the control.
