음악은 화성과, 조성, 그리고 디자인을 구성하는 여러 가지 매개변수들의 조합으로 이루어 진다. 이러한 매개변수들은 서로 다르게 작용하여 음악 안에서 긴장과 이완을 만들어낸다. 긴장과 이완은 악곡 안에서 하나의 영역으로 구축되기도 하는데, 조성음악 형식을 대표하는 소나타 형식에서는 거시적인 화성진행의 틀에 따라 발전부가 긴장의 영역이 된다. 따라서 발 전부에서는 매개변수들이 서로 다르게 조합되어 긴장을 연장해주는 사건이 일어난다. 본 논 문에서는 베토벤 발전부의 조성, 화성 그리고 디자인의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 음악의 매개변 수들이 어떻게 작용함으로 긴장의 강도를 조절하며 연장해 나가는지 분석하였다.
발전부는 서로 다른 기법을 사용하여 거시적인 화성의 연장이나 진행이 나타남으로 논리 적이 조성체계를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 조성체계를 살펴보기 위해 먼저 발전부를 음 형과 화성에 따라 보다 세부적인 하위단락들로 구분하고, 이 단락들의 서로 다른 형식적 기 능을 살펴보았다. 이후 이러한 단락들이 발전부 내에서 어떤 논리적인 화성체계를 가지고 긴 장을 연장하는지 분석하였다. 뿐만 아니라 베토벤 소나타 안에서 근본적인 화성진행을 하는 악곡들과 이러한 진행에서 벗어난 악곡들을 비교 분석함으로써 베토벤의 피아노 소나타의 화성어법의 특징과 조성음악의 성격을 살펴보았다.

Music consists of a combination of harmony, tonality and a variety of parameters which constitute the design. These parameters make tension and relaxation operate differently to each other. Also, this constructs one area of a musical piece in sonata form-which represent the form of tonal music and it makes the development section tensed by fundamental harmonic structure. The prolongation of tension occurs in the development section when the parameters compound differently. This thesis analyzed the prolongation by intensity of tension using parameters and the relations among tonality, harmony and designs in Beethoven Piano Sonata's development.
Beethoven Piano Sonata's development has fundamental harmonic prolongations and progressions that are based on a different logical tonality system. The analysis has subdivided the development into subsections and there were connections between harmonic contents. Therefore classifying the chromatic progress that contains frequent modulation and analyzing how these progressions have a logical harmony system. Also, this paper examined the specific feature of harmonic function and the character of tonal music by analyzing comparison between the Beethoven Piano Sonata's pieces, one with fundamental harmonic progress and the other one without.
