본 논문은 자폐성장애 아동에 대한 바른 이해를 위해 2018년부터 2022년까지 5년 동안 연구자가 자폐성장 애 아동의 사회적 기능 향상에 개입하면서 연구 참여자인 자폐성장애 아동과 주고받았던 6하 원칙에 의한 질문과 답의 내용을 토대로 재구성한 결과물이다. 이는 특수교육과 사회복지적인 접근을 융합한 임상적 개입실천의 성과를 산출한 것으로, 자폐성장애인의 삶의 모습과 문화를 드러내기 위해 자문화기술 지 연구방법을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 자폐성장애 아동의 행동문제는 아동 자신의 욕구를 표현 하고 충족시키기 위한 의사소통과 사회적 상호작용의 일환으로 시작되었음을 파악하였다. 둘째, 자폐성장 애 아동의 되풀이되는 일상이야기를 통해 드러나는 반복적이고 제한적인 관심과 활동은 자폐성장애인의 문화를 드러내며 이 아동의 원활한 일상생활 적응과 교육적 성취 준비를 위한 사회적 기능의 향상에 기여할 수 있는 매우 중요한 열쇠이다. 이런 연구 결과를 토대로 하여 본 연구는 자폐성장애인에 대한 바른 이해와 그것을 바탕으로 하는 사회복지 실천개입의 재구조화를 본격적으로 논의해야 할 필요성을 제안하였다.

This study reports the result of reconstructing the conversations with a child with an autistic spectrum disorder about his daily life from 2018 to 2022. In order to improve the child’s social functions, active intervention was carried out for 5 years, and the part of the intervention, the conversations were based on 5W 1H questions and answers. This study is the result of the 5-year-long intervention, which combined special education and social welfare approaches. The study used auto-ethnographic approach, which makes it possible to show the life and culture of individuals with ASD. The result of the study implies as follows: 1. Behavior problems of individuals with ASD are attributed to their desires for communication and social interaction with others. They express and satisfy their desires through behavior problems. 2. Repetitive behaviors and restricted interests are part of the culture of ASD individuals. Understanding restricted interest through finding repetitive behaviors of ASD individuals is the most critical in helping them improve social functioning including adaptation of daily life and educational achievement. On the basis of these results, the study suggests that we should reconstruct clinical practical interventions with the proper understanding of ASD individuals.
