본 연구는 대구광역시의 도시공원의 이용실태를 파악하고 미래에 요구되는 도시공원의 유형 및 조성방향을 모색함을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 도시공원의 조성·이용에 관한 이론적 고찰 및 대구시 도시공원 현황에 대한 분석을 실시하였으며, 대구시민과 전문가 1,509명을 대상으로 실증적 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술적 통계분석, χ² 검정 등을 통해 분석하였다. 분석결과, 응답자들은 산책을 목적으로 주거지에서 가장 가까운 공원을 방문하는 것으로 나타났다. 방문계절은 주로 봄철, 방문시간대는 저녁이며, 도보를 통해 주로 방문하는 특성을 보인다. 가장 많이 이용하는 시설은 산책로, 휴양시설 등로 현재 조성된 도시공원은 시민들의 가벼운 산책, 휴식 등의 정적 활동을 위한 공간으로 이용되고 있는 것으로 파악된다. 미래의 도시공원 조성방향에 대한 분석결과, 중요한 도시공원 유형으로는 ‘소공원’, 가장 시급하게 조성해야 할 공원 유형으로는 ‘주택지 주변 미조성 근린공원’으로 나타나 일상생활권 내 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 도시공원에 대한 중요성과 시급성이 높음을 의미한다. 또한 대구를 상징하는 공원 유형으로는 ‘문화공원과 근린공원’으로 나타나 대구의 문화적 특징을 활용한 문화공원 즉, 주제공원 조성이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 수요자의 관점에서 도시공원 이용실태를 파악하고 개선방향을 모색하는 데 의의가 있었으며, 장기적인 관점에서 향후 필요한 도시공원 유형을 결정하는데 필요한 기초자료를 될 것으로 기대된다. 그러나 본 연구는 도시공원 조성방향에 있어 공원유형만 다루고 있어, 향후 도시공원이 담아야 할 구체적인 콘텐츠에 관한 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
The purpose of this study is both to identify the current state of use of Daegu city-parks and to explore their types and construction directions. The theoretical review is conducted on the construction and use of the parks. Plus, empirical data are collected from both 1,509 Daegu citizens and experts. They are analyzed using technical statistical analysis using and χ² test. The results show that the respondents often visit both the nearest park with their homes and usually the city-parks with their family on foot on a weekend evening during the springtime. The most frequently used facilities include hiking trails and recreation facilities. The current urban park is used as a space for static activities such as light walking and relaxation of citizens. In addition, the most important type is the 'small park' and one of the most urgent types is the 'neighborhood park’ near residential areas. This means that accessibility to the parks in everyday life are highly important and urgent. Furthermore, cultural parks such as theme parks should be constructed for cultural life of the citizens. The study aims to understand the needs of urban parks and seeking for improvement from the viewpoint of the demander. Although it analyzes the current use and the direction of urban parks, a further research will be required on specific programs to be included in future urban parks.
