The electrocaloric effect can be observed in pyroelectric materials based on conversion between electrical and thermal energy, and can be utilized for the future environment-friendly refrigeration technology. Especially, a strong electrocaloric effect is expected in materials in which field-induced phase transition can be achieved. Emerging fluoritestructure ferroelectrics such as doped hafnia and zirconia, first discovered in 2011, are considered the most promising materials for next-generation semiconductor devices. Besides application of fluorite-structure ferroelectrics for semiconductor devices based on their scalability and CMOS-compatibility, field-induced phase transition has been suggested as another interesting phenomenon for various energy-related applications such as solid-state cooling with electrocaloric effect as well as energy conversion/storage and IR/piezoelectric sensors. Especially, their giant electrocaloric effect is considered promising for solid-state-cooling. However, the electrocaloric effect of fluorite-structure oxides based on field-induced phase transition has not been reviewed to date. In this review, therefore, the electrocaloric effect accompanied by field-induced phase transition in fluorite-structure ferroelectrics is comprehensively reviewed from fundamentals to potential applications.

Micro bubbles are widely used in many cases such as agriculture, fishery, skin care, prevention of water pollution. A high pressure compressor which is one of part of a micro bubble generating system is needed to generate these micro bubbles. The purpose of this research is the development of a high pressure compressor which is achieve following conditions; discharge flow 0.6ℓ/min, maximum air flow 2ℓ/min, discharge pressure 5bar. To achieve these conditions, we optimized the geometry of cylinder and piston, clearance volume, compression ratio, power of operating motor experimentally. Moreover, we minimized the compressor which is the biggest part of a micro bubble generating system so that we could minimized the size of entire system.

Experimental measurements of flame shape and heat transfer characteristics were performed for impinged inverse diffusion flame(IDF) using propane as a fuel. The purpose of this study is to identify the favorable co-axial inverse diffusion flame structure for impingement heating. The flame consisted of an entrainment zone and mixing and combustion zone. The heat flux which represents heat transfer rate is measured by using a heat flux sensor that is located at the center of the impingement plate. The inverse diffusion flame structure has been classified into six modes. In these modes, several favorable flames for impingement heating were identified. In this study, the parameters are overall equivalent ratio(Φ), nozzle to impingement plate distance(h/d), vertical distance from the stagnation point and Reynolds number(Re) of combustion air.

It is very difficult to predict the slope failure and to evaluate the slope stability, because the slope failure mechanism is complex and there is many influence factors. This paper was conducted to study slope stability analysis based on the measured data on the slope. The methods used in the study are the asymptotic, clustering characteristics, 3D spatial coordinates system. To analysis slope behavior, we studied the advantages, disadvantages and applicability of each method.
