A nine-month case study was conducted to examine impacts of horticultural therapy on behavior, emotion and self-esteem of 19 elementary school students. The horticultural program was consisted of 36 weekly sessions, with each session lasting for an hour and a half. The children's behavior, emotion and self-esteem were measured by K-CBCL, Moon's Emotional Intelligence Inventory, and Coopersmith Self-esteem Inventory, respectively, using a pre and post-test design. Results indicated that only students who participated in the horticultural program had significantly improved self-esteem.
