        This study observed the upper tropospheric ozone enhancement in the northern Atlantic for the Aerosols99 campaign in January-February 1999. To find the origin of this air, we have analyzed the horizontal and vertical fields of Isentropic Potential Vorticity (IPV) and Relative Humidity (RH). The arch-shaped IPV is greater than 1.5 pvus indicating stratospheric air stretches equatorward. These arch-shaped regions are connected with regions of RH less than 20%. The vertical fields of IPV and RH show the folding layer penetrating into the upper troposphere. These features support the idea that the upper tropospheric ozone enhancement originated from the stratosphere. Additionally, we have investigated the climatological frequency of stratospheric intrusion over the tropical north Atlantic using IPV and RH. The total frequency between the equator and 30˚N over the tropical north Atlantic exhibits a maximum in northern winter. It suggests that the stratospheric intrusion plays an important role in enhancing ozone in the upper troposphere over the tropical north Atlantic in winter and early spring. Although the tropospheric ozone residual method assumed zonally invariant stratospheric ozone, stratospheric zonal ozone variance could be caused by stratospheric intrusions. This implies that stratospheric intrusion influences ozone variance over the Atlantic in boreal winter and spring, and the intrusion is a possible source for the tropical north Atlantic paradox.

        Sintered composites of Al-8wt%Cu-10vol%SiCp were deformed by repressing or equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) at room temperature, and . Repressing produced more densification than ECAP but resulted in much lower transverse rupture strengths. In both cases, deformation at room temperature and , resulted in much lower strengths than deformation at , and also caused the fracturing of some SiC particles. The higher bend strengths and less SiC fracturing at are attributable to the presence of an Al-Cu liquid phase during deformation. The employment of copper coated SiC instead of bare SiC particles for preparing the composites was found not improving the properties.

        A hyrdrothermal synthesis has been developd to prepare rod-like crystals of copper oxide using copper nitrate trihydrate as a function of synthesis temperature, stirring speed and solution pH value. The properties of the fabricated crystals were studied using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and particle size analysis. The morphology of the synthesized CuO was dependent on both the pH value of the solution and the morphology of the seed materials. Synthesized particles have regular morphologies and a uniform size distribution.

        In this paper, we developed a Smart Heat Radiating Sheet(SHRS) having the absorption ability of more than 15 dB, and thermal conduction rate more than 20 W/mk for port logistics RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) system by using AMP(Amorphous Metal Powder) and shielding sheet. Firstly, the EM(Electro_Magnetic) wave absorber samples were fabricated by using AMP and CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) with different composition ratios of 80 : 20 wt.% and 85 : 15 wt.%, respectively. Secondly, we fabricated the Smart Heat Radiating Sheet using the shielding sheet to attach EM Wave Absorber. As a result, the Smart Heat Radiating Sheet with absorption ability of 16 dB at 433 MHz and thermal conduction rate is 24 W/mk has been developed with the composition ratio of Amorphous Metal Powder : CPE = 85 : 15 wt.% and thickness of 5.5 mm.
