        우리나라의 벼 직파재배 현황과 전망을 파악하고 금후 직파 재배 확대보급의 기초자료로 활용하고자 전남북, 경남북, 경기 및 강원지역의 무논점파 17농가, 건답점파 6농가를 대상으로 2014년도 벼 직파재배 사례와 금후 계획 등에 관하여 대면 조 사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 벼 직파재배 농가에서 가장 문제시 되는 것에 대해서는 잡 초가 7농가로서 전체 23농가 중에 30%를 차지하였고, 정지와 물관리가 각각 4농가로 17%씩 이었고, 파종/파종기계와 잡초성벼(앵미)가 3농가로 13%를 차지하였고, 입모와 시비라고 응 답한 농가도 각각 1농가이었다. 벼 직파재배의 기계이앙 대비 수량성은 수량이 증수하였다는 농가가 14농가로 61%를 차지 하였고, 수량이 비슷하다는 농가가 9농가가 있었다. 벼 직파재 배의 보급전망에 대해서는 7농가가 매우 좋음이라고 하였고, 11농가는 좋음, 5농가는 보통이었다. 금후 쌀 수입개방 대비 적절한 벼 재배방법으로서는 무논점파를 선택한 것이 15농가 로 65%를 차지하였고, 건답점파라고 응답한 것이 8농가로 35%를 차지하였다.

        2001년 국립식량과학원 인공기상실에서 수경재배로 규산의 시용 여부가 영양생장기 벼의 수분과 질소흡수량에 미치는 효과를 조사하여 규산시용 여부 및 공급된 질소의 형태별 처리에 의한 시험품종들의 수분과 질소이용효율을 산출한 결과는 다음과 같다.1. 처리 67일 후의 벼 건물중은 규산처리 시험구 및NH4+NO3 혼합시용 처리구가 규산을 처리하지 않은시험구 및 NH4 단독시용 처리구보다 유의하게 증가하였음.2. 이앙 후 67일간 조사된 벼의 수분흡수량은 규산처리와 규산 무처리 간의 차이가 없었으나 질소흡수량은규산 무처리에 비해 규산처리구에서 유의하게 증가하였음.3. 질소형태별로는 NH4 단독 시용보다 NH4+NO3 혼합시용에서 규산처리 여부와 관계없이 수분과 질소흡수량이 월등히 많았음.4. 수분이용효율은 규산처리 시험구가 규산을 처리하지않은 시험구에 비해 유의하게 증가하였으나 질소형태별 처리에서는 차이가 없었음.5. 질소형태의 혼합처리가 암모늄태 단독처리보다 질소흡수량은 유의하게 많았으나 질소이용효율은 감소하였음.

        A new peanut variety “ungsan”(Arachis hypogaea ssp. hypogaea L.) was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute, NICS, in Milyang in 2007. It was derived from a cross between a short stem cultivar “atonoka”and a high-yielding local cultivar “echeon” “ungsan”is the Virginia plant type. It has 18 branches per plant and 40 cm of main stem height. Each pod with long-ellipse shaped large kernel has two grains with light-brown testa and 100 seed weight was 95g in the regional yield trials (RYT). “ungsan”showed more resistant to web blotch compared with check variety. In the regional yield trials “ungsan”was outyielded in grain yield to the check variety by 16% with 4.45 MT/ha for grain.

        A new peanut variety “harmpyeong”(Arachis hypogaea ssp. hypogaea L.) was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute, NICS, in Milyang in 2007. It was developed from the cross between the high-yielding cultivar “hindaekwang”and the very short stem cultivar “CGV94216” This Virginia plant typed “harmpyeong”has 33 cm stem height and 18 branch number Each pod with ellipse-shaped large kernel has two grains with brown testa and 100 seed weight was 88 g in the regional yield trials (RYT). This variety also showed more resistant to web blotch compared with check one. Especially it has resistance to lodging until harvesting owing to short stem. In the regional yield trials “harmpyeong”was outyielded than check variety by 13% with 4.35 MT/ha for grain.

        This experiment was conducted to know the characteristics of kernel growth as affected by various temperature regimes during grain filling using the varieties Hwaseongbyeo, Ilpumbyeo and Chucheongbyeo. The rice plants tested were grown in the natural condition at 1/5000a Wagner pots until flowering. After flowering, the rice plants were moved to controlled temperature conditions in a phytotron. The minimum/maximum daily temperature in the phytotron was controlled by 12/18, 15/21, 18/24, 21/27, and 24/30~circC , respectively. The grain weights were measured every three days after treatment. The mean daily kernel growth rate during active grain filling period showed different responses among varieties under various temperature regimes. The kernel growth rate of Chucheongbyeo was seriously reduced as temperature regimes were decreased. However, that of Ilpumbyeo was not influenced so critically. Ilpumbyeo showed some advantages in grain filling under low temperature regimes compared to Chucheongbyeo. The lag phase in grain filling of Chucheongbyeo was the longest among tested varieties, followed by Hwaseongbyeo under daily mean temperature regime of 15~circC . Kernel weight of Ilpumbyeo increased fast in early grain filling phase under low temperature. This characteristic may be favorable for grain filling in temperate zone where the daily mean temperature is drastically dropped during grain filling period. Regression analysis with kernel growth rate and temperature showed the estimated critical low temperature for grain filling among varieties were 9~circC , 12~circC , 13~circC in Ilpumbyeo, Hwaseongbyeo and Chucheongbyeo, respectively. Under moderate temperature the duration of grain filling of Ilpumbyeo was longer than that of Chucheongbyeo. However, Under low temperature that of Ilpumbyeo was more favorable than Chucheongbyeo.

        In spite of simple and cheap cultivation method, water broadcast-seeded rice demonstrates uneven and unstable seedling establishment per unit land area and requires more herbicide and labor-input for weed control. Three experiments were conducted in a phytotron at 18~circC to evaluate the adaptability of seed-mat mulching cultivation technologies in water seeded rice for the uniform seedling establishment and the inhibition of weed occurrence without herbicide application. Five different kinds of mat with different mesh sizes and fabric properties were tested. The emergence of rice was the highest in Lawn-mat treatment, being comparable with the control, in which seeds were sown without mat. The Lawn-mat also exhibited the lowest mat tension. Mat tension may influence the emergence of rice. And once it was soaked in water, it didn't maintain its original shape any more. The emergence rate of rice was the lowest in Safer-mat treatment. In Lawn-mat treatment, which was the most effective for rice emergence in the first study, the differences of emergence and seedling establishment of rice depending on the seeding position (upper, beneath, and between mats) treatments were negligible, while they were higher in dry seeds than in pre-germinated seeds treatment. The emergence as affected by the kinds of mat also showed the same trend when tested using barnyard grass. Depending on the kinds of mat, the inhibition effect of weeds was the greatest in Safer-mat and the poorest in Lawn-mat. These results strongly suggest the possibility that the uniform seedling establishment and weed management without chemical could be achieved simultaneously by seed-mat mulching through the combination of effective mat for the emergence of rice and another efficient mat for the inhibition of weed occurrence. This possibility was also tested in the field.
