The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of risk awareness on injury experience in quick delivery service workers. Risk awareness has complicate characteristics such as its level of worker and worker's decision about the level of other's risk perception. Data were collected by interview survey with structured questionnaire about injury experience, risk perception, work characteristics, and socio-demographic characteristics of quick delivery service workers by cross sectional survey design in 2012. The sample size was 120 respondent of quick delivery service workers. Statistical method for this study was hierarchical logistic regression method with 3 different models using socio-demographic characteristics and work characteristics and risk perception, etc. The difference between the level of risk perception of quick delivery service and other’s was statistically significant effect on the experience of injury. Especially the higher the level of risk perception of quick delivery service workers is than other’s, the lower the injury experience of quick delivery service worker is. The limitation of this study can be found in survey design. The future study for investigation of mechanism of the combined effect of risk perception of quick delivery service workers and others on injury experience.
Automobile was first introduced in 1903 in South Korea, the masses of the car was carried out rapidly compared to other countries. However, many people were killed in a traffic accidents and economic loss was occurred due to the spread of the automobile. In South Korea, 2012, traffic accident occurred 223,656 times, 5,392 fatality, 344,565 injured people. In the last five years, about 224,000 accidents per year were occurring. In other words, 610 traffic accidents occur and about 15 people pass away in one day. In addition, the proportion of traffic accidents is first place in the OECD countries and it is very high in the world. Understand occurrence tendency of traffic accident, accident frequency rate of the driver who drives more than 10 years was higher than the novice driver. In addition, as a result of examining the cause of the traffic accident, breach of safe driving obligation appears highest case (125,391 times), and followed by signal violation, break safety distance. Therefore, the majority of traffic accidents occurred by the lack of safety awareness of the driver. In this study, prevent the loss of human life and property in traffic disaster, by establish disaster prevention measures that investigated by questionnaire survey and statistical data of the state of consciousness and driving posture in response to the driving history of the driver.
The purpose of this study is to figure out current situation of safety education to improve safety awareness and practice in Korean school students. In order to do this, it is necessary to identify the current level of safety awareness and practice with the actual status of accident occurrence. Furthermore it is try to figure out the most influencing factors on the safety education for Korean middle and high school students.The 412 students were taken from a random sample. The samples were one class of 2nd grade students in five different middle schools and four different high schools in Seoul, Korea. The survey was conducted from 29 September 2010 through 15 October 2010. An additional samples for the questionnaires posted in web were collected. The 305 respondents from school students and 80 respondents from web survey were used to analyze for this study out of 800 respondents. SPSS was used to analyze the questionnaires. The overall safety-awareness score was relatively high at 4.56/5 for fire safety and 4.32/5 for traffic safety. Safety awareness was higher for girls than boys and also for high school students than middle school students. Safety education by parents at home gives a good impact on high safety practices. Safety awareness was improved by feeling of necessity for safety training. The safety prevention training provided during the class by teacher and home training by parents improved safety practice.
This study was conducted in order to assist with infusing safety consciousness and resolving insensitivity towards safety for industrial accident in workers, managers and executives of chemical companies. Among many industrial accident prevention methods, Korea has been mostly taking an engineering approach of preventing industrial accidents by replacing old machines with risks of an accident and through new facilities and equipments. Through an attitude survey of workers in large scale chemical companies, this study wished to examine the fact that the biggest reason why the accident rate for the past 10 years has not decreased is because safety consciousness has not been established yet.
The statistics of the safety accidents in labs show that the biggest reason for them is researchers' carelessness and insecure actions. In this way, the safety accidents in labs are affected a lot by researchers' safety consciousness. Therefore, in order to prevent the safety accidents in labs, this study aims at measuring the degree of researchers' safety consciousness, grasping the elements affecting their safety consciousness and suggesting the measures to improve the lacking safety consciousness. To accomplish this goal, a survey was conducted and analyzed on the safety consciousness of 1,226 researchers working at 10 government- supported research institutes in Daedeok R&D Complex. As a results, the measures to improve researchers' safety consciousness will be suggested as follows. First, in an environmental aspect, improvement of labs' environment exposed to danger, interest and participation of CEO, regular discussion on the safety in labs, installment of safety equipments in labs, and enlargement of individual labs are necessary. Second, in an educational aspect, the safety education offered by institutes need to be enhanced, experiential safety education fit for the characteristics of research should be applied, the time for safety education must be observed, and the communication among team members through the collective education in department units and safe culture through the campaigns to enhance safety consciousness have to be established. Third, in a systematic aspect, sanctions have to be imposed on the researchers who do not attend safety education, the number of safety supervisors and safety budget of labs should be increased, a safety certification system need to be introduced when a lab is built, the problems in safety have to be open to all departments and rewards for the persons of merit in labs should be extended.
The development of society and the desire for a happy life for the safety of the public's interest in higher things of the increased body, Bain safety awareness and safety of repeated disasters without action to prevent the spread will have no choice but to tough it will also harm. Safety education training from an early age desperately needed for safety's why. Elementary․Middle․High School students' characteristics and level of safety for your knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits in order to train to teach in any manner whatsoever any information about the study will assess the need.
This study is to find out how much elementary school members have their consciousness against safety in their school. Simple questionnaire 1206 sheets have been distributed to the members and additional interview with teachers to take care of them. Statistically, frequency, and correlation analysis have been made and chi-test has also been made for data reliability. The results of these have been summarized as running on corridor with 53.4% in school safety, warming up exercise 45.2% in leisure safety, evacuation form classroom with 2.4% in fire safety, crossing around just in fromt or rear of vehicle with 61.2% in transportation safety. It is thought that safety training should be provided to more for man than for girl pupils and also, safety consciousness should be improved than all the other area.
해상에서의 선박운항자는 선박을 운항 중 장애물 혹은 타선에 대하여 적정한 이격거리를 두고 항행하고 있다. 다시 말해 시정 상태, 풍속, 조류 등에 따라 선박 전 후 거리, 좌 우현 정횡거리를 주관적인 안전 의식에 근거하여 이격하여 통항하고 있다. 현재 우리나라에서는 통항 선박 간 최소 안전이격거리 개념을 1980년대 초 외국에서 조사된 자료로 사용하고 있고, 항계 내(제한수로)와 항계 밖의 통항 선박의 안전거리가 상이함에도 불구하고 구분 없이 사용되고 있다. 또한 선박 조종학적 안전거리는 선박 전후 거리보다는 선박 측면거리가 중심이며, 선박 종류에 따라 최소 안전이격거리가 상이하지만 고려되고 있지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 상황에 따른 선박운항자의 안전 의식을 고려한 적정 이격거리를 정량화하여 해상교통안전성 평가모델의 충돌 판정 영역 개발을 위한 기초 자료로 활용하고자 하고, 우리나라에 적합한 해상교통 혼잡도 모델 개발 및 상황 선박별 해상교통관제에 필요한 가이드라인으로 이용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구결과, 시정이 양호한 주간의 경우 선수전방 4.4 L, 선미후방 3.1 L, 정횡 2.6L로 기존에 사용되고 있는 최소 안전이격거리와는 차이가 있는 것으로 분석되었으며 시정 및 주야간 등과 같은 파라미터를 다양하게 고려하였다.
A major purpose of management or occupational safety is a significant decrease in safety accidents. With this view, the establishment of occupational safety culture and the building of occupational communication network stand out as being more important than the past. This study has analysed the positive effects of occupational safety communication on safety consciousness and action of the employees in workplace. And it is confirmed that the occupational safety communication in workplace is the essential mechanism, through which the workers internalize safety consciousness and act safely. The safety consciousness and action of the employees are formed in safety culture, which is not only legal regulations, but a daily communication network in workplace. In these sense, the building of the occupational safety communication network is decisive for the establishment of safety culture. For these reasons, this study makes the proposition that a firm promotion of occupational communication network is necessary, which connects the safety culture and a effective safety management in workplace.
The purpose of this study is to collect and analyze Technical High School Teachers' opinions to find out solutions to reduce safety accidents since it is important for teachers to recognize the importance of safety. We surveyed 150 teachers from technical high schools located in Incheon and divided them into three categories and asked their opinions about prevention of safety accidents in laboratories. We also studied their experiences constructing educational environment and making instructional materials for safety eduction to improve safety awareness. Also, we studied whether school safety awareness increases through safety related activities.
The government separated and established the industrial safety and health law from the Labor Standard law since 1981 to promote the labor's working environment and to improve the conditions of laborers. The government made a lot of effort to discharge the industrial safety and health law by continuous revision of the law thereafter. it is, however, difficult to establish clear-cut lines of authority and responsibility due to the fact that the substantial application of the industrial safety and health law is adapted by enterprise's autonomous management. There are frequent industrial disasters on the small and medium enterprises which have financial difficulty and it means this causes much more social cost. Finally, for the improvement of laborer's safety, health and working environment in the small and medium enterprises we need to raise the effectiveness of the industrial safety and health law through enhancing a government-office's administration and surveillance with the changing mind of a business proprietor. On this paper, we research on the actual condition of the administration, inspection and regulation of safety and health by means of the industrial safety and health law. Thereafter we analyze how much the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency and vicarious businesses of safety & health management help. we used the survey method to gather data from 380 laborers directly and analysed the data by SPSS v17.0.
Since 1995, the facility of class 1 and 2, classified by law had been subject to system of post maintenance management where periodic safety inspection and diagnosis to identify any problems and to take appropriate measures as a matter of urgency. Although the standards and systems had been revised many times for continuous improvement due to surrounding environmental factors, the technical factors and other factors for improvements, continuous researches and efforts are needed to ensure even higher effectiveness. Furthermore, the consciousness of the management body that executes and implements such improvements for facility management is most important. Therefore in this study, through such analysis, more realistic management consciousness review was performed. Also the direction for improvements is proposed, to carry out more effective facility safety management systems implementation.
Safety training for foreign workers should be thoroughly done. But it has not been done well even if field safety manager understand that the training has not been well provided. 72% of responders (Safety Managers) at field thinks that safety training has not been well provided at a site. It is shown that there are not any additional measures to correct this problem. Eventually, the reasons of that the training is not well provided, and foreign workers do not understand safe condition at site, well lead to an accident at construction site.
This study is the result of questionnaire about disaster and safety. Survey results showed that residents' satisfaction with disaster and safety was low. And satisfaction of public officials was high. Therefore, there is a difference in perception between residents and civil servants.
