This study examines the seismic failure of RC low-rise building structures having irregularities at the ground story during the 15 November 2017 Pohang, Korea, earthquake, Mw = 5.4, which is the second strongest since the government began monitoring them in 1978 in South Korea. Some 2,000 private houses were damaged or destroyed in this earthquake. Particularly, serious damage to the piloti story of RC low-rise residential building structures of fewer than five stories was observed within 3 km of the epicenter with brittle shear failure of columns and walls due to severe torsional behavior. Buildings below six stories constructed before 2005 did not have to comply with seismic design requirements, so confinement detailing of columns and walls also led to inadequate performance. However, some buildings constructed after 2005 were damaged at the flexible side of the piloti story due to the high torsional irregularity. Based on these results, this study focuses on the problems of the seismic torsion design approach in current building codes.
본고는 이수경의 원 잡극 도류취와 풍몽룡의 명대 소설 월명화상도류취를 통해 잡극과 소설이라는 두 장르를 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위해 도류취 고사가 민간전설에서 잡극과 소설로 발전해 나간 변천과정에 대해 살펴보았고, 도류취 고사가 주로 수용된 잡극과 소설의 구성과 내용을 비교함으로써 각 장르 간의 유사점과 차이점을 살펴보았다. 두 작품은 불교라는 동일한 종교적 색채를 담고 있지만 잡극 도류취 는 일반대중들에게 연극의 형식으로 불교의 교리도 선양하고 오락적 요소도 제공했던 작품임에 반해, 소설은 파 계승의 이야기를 통해 인간의 본성과 불교의 금욕과 인과응보를 이야기하나 다분히 명대 독 서인의 흥미를 끌기 위한 상업적 의도가 엿보이는 작품이라 평할 만하다. 중국 전통문학의 주도권이 소설과 희곡으로 넘어오기 시작한 남송 이래로 소설과 희곡은 늘 상호 영향관계에 놓여 있었으며, 각자의 창작에 자양분이 되어 중국문학을 더욱 풍부하게 만든 핵심이었다. 따라서 두 장르 간 교차연구내지는 결합연구는 중국 근·현대문학을 이해할 수 있는 중요한 자원이 될 수 있다는 측면에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾고자 한다.
As the number of high-rise buildings increases, a mid-story isolation system has been proposed for high-rise buildings. Due to structural problems, an appropriate isolation layer displacement is required for an isolation system. In this study, the mid-story isolation system was designed and the seismic response of the structure was investigated by varying the yield strength and the horizontal stiffness of the seismic isolation system. To do this, a model with an isolation layer at the bottom of 15th floor of a 20-story building was used as an example structure. Kobe(1995) and Nihonkai-Chubu(1983) earthquake are used as earthquake excitations. The yield strength and the horizontal stiffness of the seismic isolation system were varied to determine the seismic displacement and the story drift ratio of the structure. Based on the analytical results, as the yield strength and horizontal stiffness increase, the displacement of the isolation layer decreases. The story drift ratio decreases and then increases. The displacement of the isolation layer and the story drift ratio are inversely proportional. Increasing the displacement of the isolation layer to reduce the story drift ratio can cause the structure to become unstable. Therefore, an engineer should choose the appropriate yield strength and horizontal stiffness in consideration of the safety and efficiency of the structure when a mid-story isolation system for a high-rise building is designed.
Recently, composite beams have been developed in which concrete is filled in a U-shaped steel plate for saving height of story. And due to high flexural stiffness and bending strength, it is widely applied in the field where high load and long span are required. The AU composite beam was improved the instability of the existing beams because it makes a closed section by attaching a cover type shear connection to the existing U - shaped composite beam with open upper section. Base isolation system is generally used for low-rise buildings. For high-rise buildings subjected to earthquake loads, a mid-story isolation system was proposed and applied to practical engineering. In this study, seismic responses of high-rise buildings considering the installation story of the mid-story isolation system were evaluated. To do this, the 20-story and 30-story building were used as example structures. Historical earthquakes such as Kobe (1995), Northridge (1994) and Loma Prieta (1989) earthquakes were employed applied as earthquake excitations. The installation location of the mid-story isolation system was changed from the bottom of the 1st floor to the bottom of the top floor. The seismic responses of the example building were investigated by changing the location of the isolation layer. Based on the analytical results, when the seismic isolation system is applied, story drift ratio and acceleration response are reduced compared to the case without the isolation system. When the isolation layer is located on the lower part of the building, it is most effective. However, in that case, the possibility that the structure is unstable increases. Therefore, an engineer should consider both structural efficiency and safety when a mid-story isolation system for a high-rise building is designed.
The need for eco-friendly building materials such as engineered wood has increased to reduce carbon emissions. Although the range and height of engineered wood buildings are gradually increasing in North America and Europe, engineered wood is mainly used for low-rise residential buildings in Korea. In order to reduce carbon emissions more, therefore, it needs to expand the use of engineered wood by applying it to various buildings with different uses or more stories. With this background, the aim of this study is to investigate the applicability of engineered wood for 9-story office buildings. Since a 9-story building with engineered wood only is not allowed in KBC, an example building has RC ordinary shear walls as the lateral force resisting system while engineered wood is only used for gravity load resisting moment frames. Another example building is also used for comparison where both lateral and gravity load resisting systems are designed by RC. The applicability of engineered wood is investigated by comparing the seismic performance and the amount of carbon emission of both buildings. The result shows that the seismic performance of both buildings was not significantly different while the amount of carbon emission of the engineered wood building was much less then the RC building. Based on this result, engineered wood is sufficiently applicable to 9-story office buildings even though it still needs to pay attention to the shear design of reinforce concrete walls.
본고는 이광수의 역사소설 <단종애사>가 당시 식민지 시대의 대중문화(유행가)와 어떠한 연관성을 가지고 있고, 그 의미는 무엇인지 밝혀보는 것을 목적으로 삼았다. 기존의 연구에서는 이광수의 문학이 과도하게 계몽적임을 비판하면서, <단종애사> 역시 그 한계를 띤 작품이라고 평가하였다. 그러나 이러한 점은 시대적인 상황을 고려하지 못했다는 점에서 다시 생각해볼만하다. 따라서 본고는 <단종애사>가 산출된 시기를 전후한 대중문화 중 유행가 <사의 찬미>, <황성의 적>, <낙화유수>를 살펴본 후 그것이 부재 에 대한 비애의 정조라는 통속적 감정과 관련이 있음을 밝혔다. 하지만 이광수는 대중들의 기대지평에 맞게끔 비애의 정조를 활용하여 통속적인 소설을 창작하는 것에 그치지 않고 그의 작가의식을 용해시켜 식민지 시기의 시대정신을 <단종애사>에 담아내고자 하였다. 다시 말해, 통속성 속에 보편성을 담아내고자 했던 것이다. 이에 <단종애사>에 나타난 식민지 시대정신은 바로 비애가 어디에서 왔는지 질문할 수 있는 문제제기라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 면모는 같은 시기에 나왔던 딱지본소설 <단종대왕실기>와 비교해 보았을 때 더욱 선명해진다. 따라서 <단종애사>는 단순히 계몽운동의 한 일환으로 평가하기 보다는, 식민지 시기의 시대정신을 잘 담아내고 있는 작품으로 평가해야할 것이다.
This study aims to establish a seismic resistance performance evaluation method that makes sure to secure the seismic resistance performance of the existing mid-low story reinforced concrete structures. This study focuses on the development of the seismic resistance performance evaluation method for the overall seismic resistance performance evaluation on the buildings by applying fuzzy theory. This seismic resistance performance evaluation method considers the mutual relations among the type of force, the type of member, the type of story, and the states of deterioration of the buildings. The total seismic resistance performance index from this method was calculated by the intensity weight of each evaluation item, fuzzy measure, fuzzy integration. Moreover, the evaluation methodology was established in this study to identify the performance level of the Immediate Occupancy, Life Safe, Collapse Prevention by applying the fuzzy theory.
This study explored the risk assessment framework of multi-story piping system installed in critical facilities, in particular, seismically base-isolated building systems. In order to understand the seismic performance of multi-story piping system, OpenSees platform was used in this study. Also, Triple Friction Pendulum Bearing as a seismic base isolator was conducted in OpenSees. The focus of this study was on the development of seismic fragility or vulnerability of seismically isolated piping system.
본 연구의 목적은 종교에 있어서 용서의 본질에 대한 문제를 탐구하는 것이 다. 이청준은 자신의 소설에서 삶의 의미에 대한 문제를 제기하는 경향이 있다. 『벌레 이야기』는 용서와 구원을 통해서 진정한 인간의 삶이 무엇인지를 독자들 에게 묻는다. 『벌레 이야기』는 관찰자가 각 장면을 선택하고 배열함으로써 사 건을 입증하는 방식을 취한다. ‘나’는 이 작품에서 발생하는 모든 사건들을 설 명하고, 검토한다. ‘나’의 증언에 따르면, 아내는 아이의 죽음을 잊어버리기 위 해서 종교에 귀의하지만, 무기력하게 종교의 희생자가 되었다. 『벌레 이야기』는 진정한 용서, 인간 존재, 그리고 인간의 존엄성에 대한 의문을 제기한다. 아 내는 고통스러운 현실을 잊어버리기 위해서 자살을 감행하지만, 그녀의 자살은 삶의 모든 것을 포기하는 것이 아니라, 그녀를 억압하는 관계와 현실로부터 도 피함으로써 현실에서 실존성을 찾고자 하는 것이다. 작가는 이 작품에서 억압적 이고 엄격한 종교를 제시하고 있다. 결국, 이청준은 인간 존엄성의 중요성과 도 덕적 가치에 바탕을 둔 양심을 강조하고 있다.
이 연구에서는 RTK-GPS 장비를 사용하여 상시바람하중 및 가진 진동 실험시 계측된 변위 응답을 이용하여 실물크기 5층 철골 프레임에 대한 시스템식별 실험을 수행하였으며, 그 결과를 가속도 응답을 사용하여 얻은 결과와 비교하였다. RTK-GPS는 10Hz의 비교적 낮은 샘플링 속도를 가지고 있어 현장상황을 고려하여 적절한 측정안정도를 확보하는 것이 중요하였다. 변위자료를 사용하여 식별된 모드특성은 가속도 자료를 사용하여 얻은 것과 동일하였으며, 가속도계를 사용하여 측정할 수 없는 변위응답의 평균성분을 관측할 수 있었다.
The seismic isolation system reduces the seismic vibration that is transmitted from foundation to upper structure. This seismic isolation system can be classified into base isolation and mid-story isolation by the installation location. In this study, the seismic behavior of dome structure with mid-story isolation is analyzed to verify the effect of seismic isolation. Mid-story isolation is more effective than base isolation to reduce the seismic responses of roof structure. Also, this isolation would be excellent in structural characteristics and construction.
In this study, Stockbridge damper was adopted to reduce the reponses of structures under earthquakes. A finite element analysis software, SAP2000, was used to simulate the structural response and the control device under dynamic loads. A 3 story frame model and the proposed control device, Stockbridge damper, were designed under laboratory conditions. In this research, a pendulum type tuned mass damper (PTMD) was also adopted in order to compare with the Stockbridge damper. Harmonic loads were applied to verity the control performance of both control devices in each mode. In results, it has been found that the Stockbirdge damper decreases significantly the responses of the structure more than the PTMD under the harmonic loadings. The El Centro and Northridge earthquakes were also applied in order to investigate the performance by both control devices. The responses of the building demonstrate that the Stockbridge damper reduces the response of the building structure during earthquakes more effectively than the PTMD.
As social media are emerging as essential communication channels for corporates in all areas, luxury jewelry brands have implemented enhanced strategies for brand story videos by creating brand channels on YouTube. In this study, a comparative analysis of the videos made available by Cartier and Tiffany&Co. on their YouTube Brand Channels was conducted, with the aim of identifying their strategic characteristics. The research method encompassed, both literature review and empirical investigations. A quantitative analysis was conducted by means of the ‘HEART’ model, a type of luxury jewelry brand story, and the following common strategic elements were identified. First, in their brand story videos both brands focus primarily on ‘theme’. Second, ‘relationship’ and ‘artisanship’ are emphasized in addition to ‘theme’. Third, the videos incorporate high level aesthetics to stimulate the fantasies and dreams of their audiences. The strategic differences between the brands are as follows. : First, ‘artisanship’ is given the greatest significance along with ‘theme’ in Cartier videos, while ‘relationship’ has prime significance in Tiffany&Co. videos. Second, a difference between a European approach and an American approach towards luxury brand building is evident, with Cartier hosting exhibitions while Tiffany&Co. provides gala videos instead.
The research is conducted to study how myth tourism story marketing can affect global tourist visiting intention. The exploratory result shows that people intention to visit a myth tourism destination is driven by the curiosity after hearing or reading the story. In several travellers’ forum, people tend to discuss about a place’s story such as in Bali. Meanwhile, interview with a local myth tourism community shows that there are several types of people who want to visit the places such as an adventure seeker, travellers who find it exciting to explore, and also the one who is curious with things related to myth. Therefore, this research aim to focus on West Java myth tourism story marketing as West Java is well- known as its mythical tourism sites spread across the province. As myth is inseparable from cultural symbol, this study also put cultural and psychographic factors into account and expect to see to what extent those factors influence the tourist visiting intention to West Java myth tourism sites. Lifestyle is one of the most common psychographic attributes. Gonzales and Bello (2002) also emphasized that lifestyle is a push-factor for tourists in choosing a destination as tourists seek the experience which can be related to their lifestyle. Loureiro (2014) pointed out that a myth story might not correspond to the actual facts but the originality is provided by the story-teller. In order for the tourist to choose a destination, hence good story-telling that would deliver the value is required. This statement conformed to Park and Njite (2010) who considered story as a form of marketing communication strategy. Furthermore, the story marketing which resonance with the customer values could lead to a purchasing behaviour. (Thomas, 2012). In relation to story marketing, the respondents are asked to select the destination they intent to visit before and after provided with the myth behind those destinations. This research is then analysed using multivariate analysis method, conjoint analysis and multiple linear regression to see which factors influence the tourist visiting intention the most. By understanding important factors influencing tourist visiting intention, it is expected that West Java myth tourism information sites may improve their ability to attract both foreign and domestic tourists through its myth story marketing.
본 연구는 뮤지컬 「웨스트 사이드 스토리」를 통하여 어떻게 드라마 형성소들이 다층 적으로 그려져 있는지 분석한다. 이와 동시에 뮤지컬 내 다양한 형태로 구성되어 있는 넘버의 배치가 어떠한 미적효과를 가져오는지를 증명하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 뮤지컬에서 넘버는 그 자체만으로도 서사가 진행이 되며, 그 배치에 따라 극적 기능을 달리한다. 즉, 뮤지컬 넘버 그 자체가 플롯으로서의 역할을 한다. 극적 분위기를 암시하고, 주인공의 심경을 표현하며, 극적 갈등 인자인 동시에 극적 회복의 기능을 지니는 등 스토리 가 아닌 플롯으로서의 기능을 지니는 것이다. 특히 ‘투나잇-오중창’의 경우, 공간분할을 통해 표현되는 다섯 가지의 욕망의 대립으로 인하여, 극적 긴장감을 극도로 상승시켜 작품의 클라이맥스 역할을 지닌다. 하나의 넘버 안 에서 다섯 가지의 이야기를 분리시키고, 그것을 유기적으로 연결시킴으로서 한 작품이 시 사하는 테마와 목적을 드러낸다. 결론적으로, 본 논문을 통해 뮤지컬의 넘버가 플롯으로서 어떻게 역할을 하느냐에 따라 극의 완성도가 결정된다는 사실을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 이 연구를 통하여 향후 뮤지컬 넘버 와 플롯을 구조화시키는 데 길잡이역할을 하고자 한다.
본 연구의 목적은 쌍녀분 전승을 둘러싸고 있는 여러 쟁점들을 검토함으로써 작품이 지니는 소설사적 의미와 맥락을 재조명하기 위한 것이다. 최치원과 쌍녀분에 얽힌 이야기는 육조사적편류를 위시한 중 국 문헌, 그리고 대동운부군옥, 태평통재 등의 국내 문헌에 실려 있다. 이들 각편은 작품 제목과 분 량, 서사적 성격에 있어서 상이한 모습을 드러내고 있다. 이에 따라 작품의 작자, 창작 시기, 소설적 성 격, 각 편 간의 상호 관계, 원작품과 후대적 가필 여부, 주제의식 등 여러 가지 문제가 아직 미해결 상태 로 남아 있다. 아울러 근래 이루어졌던 중국 현지에서의 쌍녀분 발굴 성과는 작품을 둘러싼 여러 가지 쟁점을 해결하는 데 있어서 일정한 단서를 제공해 주고 있다. 현재까지의 연구 성과를 비판적으로 성찰 함으로써 한국 소설사는 물론, 동아시아 전기소설사의 관점에서 작품이 지니는 문학사적 위상을 바로잡 는 작업이 요구된다.
