        Background: While efforts have been made to differentiate fall risk in older adults using wearable devices and clinical methodologies, technologies are still infancy. We applied a decision tree (DT) algorithm using inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor data and clinical measurements to generate high performance classification models of fall risk of older adults. Objects: This study aims to develop a classification model of fall risk using IMU data and clinical measurements in older adults. Methods: Twenty-six older adults were assessed and categorized into high and low fall risk groups. IMU sensor data were obtained while walking from each group, and features were extracted to be used for a DT algorithm with the Gini index (DT1) and the Entropy index (DT2), which generated classification models to differentiate high and low fall risk groups. Model’s performance was compared and presented with accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. Results: Accuracy, sensitivity and specificity were 77.8%, 80.0%, and 66.7%, respectively, for DT1; and 72.2%, 91.7%, and 33.3%, respectively, for DT2. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the fall risk classification using IMU sensor data obtained during gait has potentials to be developed for practical use. Different machine learning techniques involving larger data set should be warranted for future research and development.

        This paper reports the results of an experimental examination using X-rays to test annealing materials for lapped bearing steel (STB2), to confirm the validity of the weighted averaging analysis method. The distribution behavior for the sin diagram and the presence or absence of differences in the peak method, half-value breadth method, and centroid method were investigated. When lapping the annealed bearing steel (STB2) material, a residual stress state with a non-directional steep gradient appeared in the surface layer, and it was found that the weighted averaging analysis method was effective. If there is a steep stress gradient, the sin diagram is curved and the diffraction intensity distribution curve becomes asymmetric, resulting in a difference between the peak method, half-value breadth method, and centroid method. This phenomenon was evident when the stress gradient was more than 2~3 kg/mm2/μm. In this case, if the position of the diffraction line is determined using the centroid method and the weighted averaging analysis method is applied, the stress value on the surface and the stress gradient under the surface can be obtained more accurately. When the stress gradient becomes a problem, since the curvature of the sin diagram appears clearly in the region of sin > 0.5, it is necessary to increase the inclination angle  as much as possible. In the case of a lapping layer, a more accurate value can be obtained by considering  in the weighted averaging analysis method. In an isotropic biaxial residual stress state, the presence or absence of  can be determined as the presence or absence of strain for sin≈0.4.

        Background: The Natural killer cell activity measurement test of the ELISA method developed by company A could have many economic benefits in terms of cost and time compared to the existing 'cytotoxicity test method'. A portable incubator capable of culturing the specimen while moving was developed as a way to save test time and secure the stability of the specimen when transferring the specimen to the entrusted institution. Objectives: This study investigated efficacy evaluation of NK cell activity measurement in a portable incubator. Design: Experimental research. Methods: 100 participants were selected to measure NK cell activity. The collected blood was placed in a general incubator and a portable incubator at the same time to start culturing, and the plasma was separated by centrifugation. The NK cell activity test was measured by enzyme immunometry. Results: In the verification of the culturing performance of the developed portable incuvator, no significance was found between the general incuvator and the portable incuvator, and the same performance was maintained in culture. Conclusion: Portable incubators have a great effect on shortening the test time and securing the stability of samples.

        Sulfide concentrations critically affect worker safety and the integrities of underground facilities, such as deep geological repositories for spent nuclear fuel. Sulfide is highly sensitive to oxygen, which can oxidize sulfide to sulfate. This can hinder precise measurement of the sulfide concentration. Hence, a literature review was conducted, which revealed that two methods are commonly used: the methylene blue and sulfide ion-selective electrode (ISE) methods. Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) was used for comparison with the two methods. The sulfide ISE method was found to be superior as it yielded results with a higher degree of accuracy and involved fewer procedures for quantification of the sulfide concentration in solution. ICP-OES results can be distorted significantly when sulfide is present in solution owing to the formation of H2S gas in the ICP-OES nebulizer. Therefore, the ICP-OES must be used with caution when quantifying underground water to prevent any distortion in the measured results. The results also suggest important measures to avoid problems when using ICP-OES for site selection. Furthermore, the sulfide ISE method is useful in determining sulfide concentrations in the field to predict the lifetime of disposal canisters of spent nuclear fuel in deep geological repositories and other industries.

        목적 : 대학생을 대상으로 디지털기기의 사용시간을 조사하고, 비침습적 눈물막파괴시간(NITBUT)을 측정하여 디지털기기가 눈물막에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 : 2022년 8월부터 2개월간 충남 소개 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 55명을 대상으로 분석하였다. 눈물막 평 가는 Cornea 550을 이용하여 NITBUT를 측정하여 안구건조증과 정상안으로 구분하였다. 설문은 대상자의 일반 적 특성, 디지털기기의 사용 환경, 그리고 안구건조증 관련 자각 증상에 관해 총 14문항을 조사하였다. 결과 : 대상자들이 디지털기기를 사용하는 시간은 하루 평균 9.93±4.90시간이었다. 하루에 디지털기기를 8 시간 이상 사용하는 그룹에서 NITBUT가 안구건조증에 속한 경우는 58.5%였고, 8시간 미만의 21.4% 보다 유의 하게 높았다(p=0.029). 또한, 하루에 8시간 이상 디지털기기를 사용한 대상자들은 눈의 건조감과 안정피로를 더 크게 호소하였고, 연령, 성별, 콘택트렌즈, 굴절수술, 흡연, 수면시간을 보정한 후에 8시간 이상의 디지털기기의 사용은 안구건조증에 걸릴 확률을 5.18배 높였다(p=0.023). 디지털기기가 스마트폰인 경우는 NITBUT가 정상인 그룹에서 53.8%였고, 안구건조증 그룹에서는 69.0%였다(p>0.050). 결론 : 디지털기기의 사용시간이 8시간 이상 일 경우에는 비침습적 눈물막파괴시간이 짧아졌고, 안구건조증에 걸릴 확률이 높아짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

        The carbon concentration in the carburized steels was measured by electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) for a range of soluted carbon content in austenite from 0.1 to 1.2 wt%. This study demonstrates the problems in carbon quantitative analysis using the existing calibration curve derived from pure iron (0.008 wt%C) and graphite (99.98 wt%C) as standard specimens. In order to derive an improved calibration curve, carbon homogenization treatment was performed to produce a uniform Kα intensity in selected standard samples (AISI 8620, AISI 4140, AISI 1065, AISI 52100 steel). The trend of detection intensity was identified according to the analysis condition, such as accelerating voltage (10, 15, 30 keV), and beam current (20, 50 nA). The appropriate analysis conditions (15 keV, 20 nA) were derived. When the carbon concentration depth profile of the carburized specimen was measured for a short carburizing time using the improved calibration curve, it proved to be a more reliable and accurate analysis method compared to the conventional analysis method.

        This study evaluates the ammonia (NH3) reduction effect of Bio-curtains (hereinafter referred to as curtains) utilized for odor control in pig farms based on the distance outside the curtain and the spraying condition. The curtain (total area: 37.9m3) was constructed with two layers of light-shielding screens stretched over a rectangular parallelepiped structure installed around a ventilation fan (630 mm) on the side wall of a pig barn where 48 finishing pigs were reared. The real-time NH3 concentration was measured by using a photoacoustic spectrometer. In the first part of this study, the NH3 measurement position for each side of the curtain was selected based on the lowest standard deviation among 4 to 8 initial sampling points on the surface of the curtain and utilized for both experiments of distance and spraying. In the experiment concerning the distance outside the curtain, ammonia concentration decreased by 17.45% at 2m compared to the distance at 5 cm and by 6.94% at 4m compared to 2m on average. In contrast, the NH3 reduction rate for each distance compared to the ventilation fan was the lowest at the 100% operating rate in which the exhausted NH3 concentration from the ventilation fan was low. At this time, the spraying mist on the inside of the curtain increased the NH3 reduction rate by 4.98 to 10.36% compared to the non-spraying condition. Consequently, the NH3 be reduced as distance outside the curtain increases due to the diffusion effect caused by the surrounding wind and the spraying mist on the inside curtain on the dissolution of NH3.

        Microclimate analysis was conducted through actual measurement according to land use status in urban, and CFD analysis was conducted to analyze and predict the microclimate characteristics of urban, and compared and analyzed with the actual measurement results. It was measured in high-rise areas and parks, and the temperature of the park area was 0.4 to 0.6℃ lower, and the relative humidity was 1.0 to 3.0% higher. The correlation coefficient was obtained by comparing the results of the computational fluid analysis with the results of the computational fluid analysis at the actual location located within the CFD analysis area for validation. The seasonal correlation coefficients are all higher than 0.8, so it is judged that they can be applied to microclimate analysis in urban area. The computational fluid analysis was divided into three areas (low-rise, low and high-rise, and high-rise) centered on the A2 point. On average, the low-rise area was 0.1 to 0.4% higher than the high-rise area. In the low and high-rise area and high-rise area, the pith of buildings are wide, so the airflow is smooth, so it is judged that the temperature is relatively low.

        In this study, measurement errors of the X and Y axes were verified by using an 80-100 mm gauge block, an NPL type angle measuring device, and a spelling on a contact-type 3D measuring device surface plate. In addition, the measurement specimen was repeatedly measured 10 times at 10° intervals from 0° to 40° to confirm the average value and standard deviation. After confirming the statistical test value (P) through ANOVA analysis of the statistical program, the correlation between angle change and error was confirmed.

        최근 3차원 영상 데이터 활용 기술이 주목받으며 레이저 스캐너, 깊이 카메라와 같은 장비를 활용하여 작물의 생육을 측정하려는 연구가 시도되고 있다. 작물의 생육 특성을 측정할 때 3차원 영상 데이터를 활용한다면 평면 데이터에서 측정하지 못한 구조와 형태 정보를 이용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 콩의 생육 특성을 3차원 영상 데이터를 활용하여 추정하였다. 깊이 카메라를 이용하여 콩의 개화시(R1), 착협기(R3), 종실비대기(R5) 에 촬영하고 3차원 데이터로 개체의 초장과 엽면적을 추정하고 실측 값과 비교하였다. 초장 추정을 위해 평면에 투영된 개체의 무게 중심을 이용하여 원줄기의 x, y 좌표 위치를 지정하였는데 눈으로 보고 지정한 원줄기의 위치와 무게 중심 점의 x, y 좌표 위치는 높은 결정 계수를 보였다. 초장 추정의 경우 콩의 구조와 형태가 발달함에 따라 3차원 영상에서 지면으로부터 개체 상단 지점 간 거리를 이용하는 방법은 실측과 추정 값간 오차가 컸다. 엽면적 추정을 위해서 3차원 위치 값을 갖는 개체 표면 점들을 높이에 따라 분할하고 각 높이 구간의 면적을 계산하였다. 3차원 데이터 병합 과정에서 늘어난 점 개수로 인해 각 높이 구간에서 계산된 면적이 증가하였기 때문에 추정 값은 과대평가되었다. 향후 3차원 영상을 이용한 보다 정밀한 생육 조사를 위해서는 작물 고유의 생육변수 특성을 고려한 데이터 전처리 과정과 분석 방법 개발이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

        PURPOSES : The initial smoothness of concrete pavement surfaces must be secured to ensure better driving performance and user comfort. The roughness was measured after hardening the concrete pavement in Korea. When the initial roughness is poor, relatively large-scale repair works, such as milling or reconstruction must be performed. Hence, a method to measure the roughness of the concrete pavements in realtime during construction and immediately correct the abnormal roughness was developed in this study. METHODS : The profile of a concrete pavement section was measured at a construction site using sensors that were attached to the tinning equipment of the paver. The measured data included outliers and noise caused by the sensor and vibration of the paving equipment, respectively, which were further calibrated. Consequently, the calibrated data were input into the ProVAL program to calculate the roughness based on the international roughness index (IRI). Additionally, the profile of the section was re-measured using another method to verify the reliability of the calculated IRI. RESULTS : The profile data measured at the concrete pavement construction site were calibrated using methods, such as overlapped boxplot outlier removal and low-pass filtering. The outlier data from the global positioning system (GPS), which was installed to identify the construction distance, was also calibrated. The IRI was calculated using the ProVAL program by matching the measured profile and GPS data, and applying the moving average method. The calculated IRI was compared to that measured using another method, and the difference was within the tolerance. CONCLUSIONS : A method to measure the roughness of the concrete pavements in real time during construction was developed in this study. Hence, the performance of concrete pavements can be improved by enhancing the roughness of the pavement considerably using the aforementioned method.

        Noise is a sound that humans do not want. In this study, noise is measured for C172, the most frequently used general aviation trainer in Korea and abroad. In addition, in this study, noise measurement points are selected for Muan Airport, where most of the domestic training aircraft fly under the supervision of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Based on this, the measured data is scaled and analyzed. In addition, we intend to analyze what characteristics C172 aircraft have unique through frequency analysis of noise of C172. Through this, it is intended to understand what type of noise training aircraft affect in future studies.

        최근 들어 한옥마을과 같은 전통문화를 즐길 수 있는 장소에서 한복 대여를 통해 남녀노소 누구나 쉽게 한복을 체험할 수 있게 되었다. 또한 한복을 착용하는 데서 그치지 않고 인증샷을 찍어 SNS에 공유함으로써 한복 체험이 선풍적인 인기를 얻게 되었다. 하지만 한옥마을과 같은 특정한 장소에서 할 수 있는 한복 체험을 제외하고는 일상생 활에서 한복의 대중화는 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 한복을 일상복으로 대중화하기 위해서는 한복의 편의성뿐만 아니라 한복에서 느껴지는 감성적인 만족까지 반영하여 한복을 디자인을 하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구는 선행연구를 통 해 추출한 한복에서 느끼는 소비자의 감성을 표현하기 위한 감성 어휘 28개를 활용하여 한복 유형별로 느껴지는 소비자의 감성을 7점 리커드 척도로 측정하였다. 그리고 한복 유형별로 ‘느껴진다’에 해당하는 5점 이상의 점수를 기록한 감성 어휘와 감성 카테고리를 분석하였다. 또한 한복 유형별로 성별에 따른 감성 카테고리의 평균차이를 검 증하였으며, 그 결과 호감 카테고리에서만 남녀 간의 유의한 차이가 있었다. 마지막으로 한복 유형을 전통 한복(배냇 저고리, 색동저고리, 성인 전통 한복, 전통 혼례복)과 현대 한복(아동 생활 한복, 여자 생활 한복, 남자 생활 한복)으 로 구분하여 감성 카테고리의 평균차이를 검증한 결과 6개의 감성 카테고리인 ‘유쾌감, 심미감, 조화감, 신선감, 호 감, 안정감’에서 전통한복과 현대한복 간의 유의한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구에서 도출한 한복 유형별로 느껴지는 감성 어휘에 대한 분석 결과는 소비자에게 보다 감성적인 만족을 제공하는데 도움이 되리라 기대된다.

        The purpose of this study is to develop a pH measurement system capable of measuring the acidity of saliva to check the change in pH level in saliva during driving and to detect whether fatigue is affected. When the pH level is checked at rest and operation, and oxygen concentration is supplied additionally, it will be verified whether the fatigue is reduced. It is reported that the pH level in saliva is divided into stages from 0 to 14, and the lower the value based on step 7, the higher the fatigue, and the lower the fatigue. In particular, in enclosed vehicles, drowsiness and fatigue due to increased carbon dioxide have increased, leading to a major cause of traffic accidents. Therefore, fatigue may be detected in advance by analyzing fatigue through a change in pH level by supplying oxygen during operation. The electromotive force generated by the existing itself is a level of several mV to develop a pH measurement system, so it is developed by expanding it to a range that can be measured using a readout circuit. In the experiment, 13 male experimenters in their 20s measured pH levels in resting and driving conditions. After 20 minutes of rest, the process of inhaling oxygen for 20 minutes was repeated three times. The oxygen concentration used in the experiment was 21% oxygen and 30% oxygen concentration in the atmospheric state, and in the oxygen supply method, a triangular flask was directly connected to the subject’s nose and then oxygen was supplied. As a result of collecting and analyzing saliva after rest and operation, it was confirmed that the pH level tended to decrease in the operating state. In addition, as a result of increasing the pH level when the oxygen concentration is 30% more than 21%, it is confirmed that fatigue tends to decrease as the oxygen concentration increases. Therefore, it was possible to confirm a significant change in fatigue by analyzing the pH level of saliva through this pH measurement system. This study can be used as a fatigue test in various environments through simple pH measurement.

        When developing a new motor, a high-speed load test is performed using dynamo equipment to calculate the efficiency of the developed motor using the collected dynamo data. When connecting the test motor and the dynamo used as a load, abnormal noise and vibration may occur in the test equipment rotating at high speed due to misalignment of the connecting shaft and looseness of the connection, which may lead to a safety accident. In this study, three vibration sensors are attached to the surface of bearing parts of the test motor to measure the vibration value, and statistics such as kurtosis, skewness, and percentiles are obtained in order to clearly express the pattern of the measurement data. With these statistics, machine learning models are developed. The developed model in this way can be used as a diagnostic system that can detect abnormal conditions of the motor test equipment through monitoring the motor vibration data during the motor test.
