Silkworms have been developed for food and medicinal purposes, and several silkworm products are commercially available. However, there has been no research on their shelf stability. This study investigated the shelf stability of freeze-dried silkworms during storage at various temperature and humidity conditions, using three lipid oxidation indicators: peroxide, acid, and TBA value. The higher the temperature and relative humidity are, the more significant the three lipid oxidation indicators increase. Among these indicators, the TBA and peroxide values show the highest temperature dependence and humidity dependence, respectively. This study could contribute to the standardization of the shelf life of products made from freeze-dried silkworms.

In this study, the quality safety limit period of seven types of bakery bread was analyzed, and their use-by date was calculated. For evaluating product quality, storage conditions were set as 5, 15, 25, and 35oC for 50 days, and moisture, microorganisms, sensory characteristics, and dominant bacteria were examined. The quality and safety standards followed the Korea Food Code and Korean industrial standards (KS). The results showed that all products stored at 5oC satisfied the standard for bacterial count for day 50, but the sensory quality was below the standard level. Samples stored at 15oC showed high variability from 3–39 days. At 25oC, a quality safety limit period of 2–20 days was set, and one sample was found to have the same shelf life. Bread stored at 35 °C had the shortest quality safety limit period. Considering a safety factor of 0.87, a use-by date period of 1.7–13.1 days was calculated. Therefore, setting the use-by date according to the product type is necessary, even for the same product category. Among the bread products sold in bakeries, those managed as room temperature products (1–35oC) can be distributed and stored in a temperature range of up to 35oC. Overall, this study demonstrates the importance of setting a quality retention period based on the product characteristics and carefully considering the safety factor.

In this paper, we introduce the result of the locker of the safety helmet to protect the user’s life from accidents of personal mobility, i.e. electrical-scooter, electrical bicycle and kick-board. Through Arduino kit which is the one of common open source computing platform, electric circuit and equipment to fulfil the functions of the locker of the safety helmet is designed and made. Especially the functions which are protected from the damage of humidity and sterilization of bacteria will be automatically operated in locker by Arduino board and bluetooth module with various sensors. The dimension of the locker is designed using CATIA program and made with ABS(Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) resin to keep and lock the helmet.

Gwaebultaeng is a cultural property of painting, a large Buddhist painting used for special ceremonies in Buddhism. It is stored in an indoor temple environment, and there is a greater risk of contamination and damage due to environmental factors compared to other cultural properties. In 2021, the treasure Hanging Painting of Anguksa Temple and storage chest stored in Geungnakjeon Hall of Anguksa Temple in Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do were investigated. As a result, one genus and three species fungi, one species bacteria were found on the surface of the painting. In addition, five genera and 11 species fungi, eight genera and 12 species bacteria were confirmed on the surface of the storage chest. Among them, the same three species of Aspergillus genus were identified in both Gwaebultaeng and the storage chest. These results suggest the possibility of introduction and spread from airborne fungi in the indoor air outside the chest. Among the identified microorganisms, one genus and two species fungi in Gwaebultaeng and three genera and four species fungi, four genera and five species bacteria were identified as those that could cause damage to the storage chest. In addition, it was confirmed that one species fungus in Gwaebultaeng and one genus and two species fungi could cause harm to the human body. The results of this study will serve as a basis for careful discussion and management regarding the storage of cultural properties in the future.

Transportation in urban area has been getting hard to fulfill the demand on time. There are various uncertainties and obstacles related with road conditions, traffic congestions, and accidents to interrupt the on-time deliveries. With this situation, the last mile logistics has been a keen issue for researchers and practitioners to find the best strategy of the problem. A way to resolve the problem is to use parcel lockers. Parcel locker is a storage that customers can pick up their products. Transportation vehicles deliver the products to parcel lockers instead of all customer sites. Using the parcel lockers, the total delivery costs can be reduced. However, the inconvenience of customer has to increase. Thus, we have to optimal solution to balance between the total delivery costs and customers' inconvenience. This paper formulates a mathematical model to find the optimal solution for the vehicle routing problem and the location problem of parcel lockers. Experimental results provide the viability to find optimal strategy for the routing problem as well as the location problem.

The development of technology related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the growth of the online market due to pandemic are continuing the growth of the logistics market for product delivery. If it is difficult to deliver the product directly to the customer during delivery, storage and delivery using the unmanned courier box are being carried out. However, existing storage boxes are not actively used due to lack of usability even though they have the advantage of storing goods and delivering non-face-to-face. In addition, existing courier boxes are not prepared for cold chain transportation. The unmanned delivery storage device with ICT cold chain technology should be developed to prepare for the transition to non-face-to-face society, to improve logistics efficiency and meet user's requirements. Also, it is necessary to consider the measures to reduce the safety problems that may occur during the use and maintenance of the automatic system. This study conducted a model-based analysis for the development of unmanned delivery storage devices with ICT cold chain technology, and conducted a study to derive the system development specifications that meet the requirements and secure safety and apply them to the development process.

Rack is a place to store products. Workers pick products from rack storage. After picking up, workers move to another location by forklift. Driving speed, worker condition, and number/frequency of operation is responsible for forklift accidents. When an accident occurs, products get damaged. Therefore, it is important to prevent one. As the research result, To prevent forklift accidents, the minimum order quantity, the minimum number of operations, and low speed operation are required.

The sampling bag is used as a storage container for odor gas samples. It is known that the substances recovery rate of odor bags decreases during storage time, and the degree of recovery varies depending on the characteristics of the gas sample and the material of the bag. This study investigated the recovery rate of VFA (ACA, PPA, BTA, VLA) in PEA bags during storage time. In addition, a model was developed to estimate the recovery rate of each substance as a function of time. Standard gas (ACA, PPA, BTA, VLA mixed) recovery rate was used for the model development. The concentration of the compound in the bag was measured by SIFT-MS at intervals of 1 to 2 hours. The recovery rate according to the storage time was calculated as the ratio to the initial concentration. The recovery rate of each substance according to the storage period (12h, 24h, 36h, 48h) was ACA (66.2%, 62.8%, 55.6%, 52.0%), PPA (77.6%, 72.1%, 63.0%, 58.1%, 86.6%), BTA (86.6%, 81.3%, 71.6%, 66.9%), VLA (94.8%, 89.0%, 76.6%, 71.7%). The recovery rate continued to decrease over the course of 48 hours of storage time. ACA, PPA, and BTA showed the greatest decrease within the initial 12 hours, which is form of exponential decrease. Therefore, we considered a 1~3 degree polynomial regression model and a 1~2 degree exponential decay model. Each developed model was evaluated by r², RMSE, MAPE, AIC, and then a model for each substance was selected. Selected models were tested with recovery rate data from swine farm odor samples. Only the ACA model exhibited a good performance (r² = 0.76).
