        The purpose of this study was to examine the association nutrition education experience in regards to metabolic risk and nutrition intake in Korean adult male using the 2016~2017 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey as the reference. The study involved a total of 1,978 male subjects aged 40~64 who were classified into the 2 groups based on their nutrition education experience: Educated group (n=88) and non-educated group (n=1,890). The household income and education level of educated group were higher than those of the non-educated group. The two groups showed no significant difference in the level of fasting blood sugar, blood lipid profile including total cholesterol and triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, and hypertension. Vitamin C intake of the educated group (127.5 mg) was higher compared to the non-educated group (88.2 mg) (p<0.05). The percentage of the subjects utilizing nutritional labels was higher in the educated group. The nutrition education experience was inversely proportional to lower Odds Ratio in hyperLDL-cholesterolemia (OR: 0.47, 95% CI: 0.36, 0.84) and HypoHDL-cholesterolemia (OR: 0.57, 95% CI: 0.37, 0.87). This result indicates that nutritional education can be used as an effective tool to avert chronic diseases and develop healthy eating habits.

        This study is conducted to compare the problems affecting dietary habits and health status between a long-term exercise group and non-exercise group of males older than 50 years. Most subjects of the two groups consider regular exercise to be the most important factor for maintaining health, and recognize hypertension as the number one concern. The most common nutritional supplement among subjects is multiple vitamins, and sleeping time range from 6~8 hours. Breakfast fasting rate was 15.9% among non-exercise group (NEG), where overeating and eating out rates were higher among exercise group (EG) when comparing to NEG. Fasting rates of breakfast, and consumption rates of milk and dairy products, vegetables such as kimchi, and fruits and fruit juices are higher among the EG. Overeating and eating out rates are lower among NEG, whereas eating rates of proteins like meat, fish, eggs, beans, fried foods, high-fat meats carbonated drinks, ice cream, and salt intakes are higher. Rates of health, dietary habits, and nutrient intakes are higher among EG. Energy intakes among the two groups were below the standard level, Vitamin B2 intake is low in EG, and folic acid and calcium intakes were higher in NEG. The exercising group care more about health, eating habits and nutrient intakes, and low smoking rates are being observed. Thus, specific dietary improvement programs for adult men, are required, and it is necessary to consider the practice of nutrition education.

        본 연구는 라벤더(Lavandula angustifolia)향이 성인 남자의 뇌기능에 미치는 효능을 살펴보기 위해 뇌파 변화를 살펴보았다. 라벤더향이 감성에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구는 주로 여자를 대상으로 한 연구가 많고 남자를 대상으로 한 연구가 거의 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 신체적으로 건강한 20대 남자 성인(35명)을 대상으로 피츠버그 수면질 지수를 통하여 수면질을 조사하여 실험군과 대조군의 좋은 수면질과 나쁜 수면질의 네 군으로 분류하였다. 뇌파 전극을 10-20 국제법에 의하여 전두부(F3, F4), 측두부(T3, T4), 후두부(O1, O2), 두정부(P3, P4)에 부착하고 라벤더 향기요법 전 3분, 향기요법 중 3분, 그리고 향기요법 후 3분씩 나누어서 뇌파 검사를 시행하였다. 결과에서 수면질이 좋은 군에 라벤더향이 뇌파에 미치는 영향은 양쪽 대뇌반구의 두정부에서 델타파를 증가시키고 오른 대뇌반구 측두부에서 세타파를 증가시키며, 양쪽 대뇌반구의 두정부에서 알파파를 감소시켰다(p<0.05). 또한 라벤더향은 수면질이 나쁜 군의 왼 대뇌반구의 전두부에서 델타파와 양쪽 대뇌반구의 전두부에서 세타파를 증가시켰다(p<0.05). 결론적으로 라벤더향은 수면질이 좋은 남자 성인에서 각성 상태에 관련된 뇌파를 감소시키면서 수면 상태에 관련된 뇌파는 증가시키는 효능이 있었고, 수면질이 나쁜 남자 성인에서는 수면 상태에 관련된 뇌파를 증가시키는 효능이 있었다.

        It is known as that onion is antioxidation effect, antibiotic effect, blood pressure decreasing effect and reducing serum cholesterol levels. This research about effect that onion concentrate gets blood cholesterol levels and body composition. Subject was 17 adult men of hyperlipidemia. Age distribution of investigation subjects were average 49.4 years old by 40 ~ 56 years old, and average height and weight were 167.6 cm and 75.5 kg each, BMI was 26.9 kg/㎡, and BMR was 1, 460.6±87.5kcal, and AMC was 25.0±1.05cm, and BCM was 41.0±2.79cm. In the meantime, the body muscle was 53.7±3.7kg, and fat mass was 18.7±3.8kg, and intracellular fluid was 26.6±1.8kg, and extracellular fluid was 12.8±0.9kg. The % body fat was 24.6±3.8% , and fat distribution was 0.9±0.0%, and the obesity degree was 125.4±8.2%. Vegetables, seaweeds, fruits and juices increased by change of dietary life and greasy foods, instants, breads, rices etc. decreased or there was no change, fast foods and eggs were no change. Also, subject previewed that guidance about stress, smoking, drinking and beverage intake need. If compared the nutrient intake amount with before onion concentrate allowance, it was similar level almost without significant. Energy, calcium and riboflavin are lower than the RDA for koreans. After 3 months, the levels of plasma total cholesterol, triglycerides had decreased significantly : 15.0%, 31.2% respectively. And the HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels also showed a marked reduction of 6.8%, 8.7% respectively. Plasma lipid level change by onion concentrate supplement would can know that case of triglyceride more greatly than plasma cholesterol. The pH and Na^+ level of plasma were low significant since 8 weeks after, and K^+ level increase significant. While Ca^++ level was low significant after 1 month , there was no change since 2 months after, but nCa^++ level was low significantly. Plasma Mg^++ level was no change and nMg^++ level was low significant after intake.

        운동심리학(exercise psychology) 문헌들은 운동이 수면을 향상시키는 효과가 있다고 밝혀왔다. 이 연구의 목적은 일회성 유산소운동 강도에 따라 성인남자의 수면질(sleep quality)과 정서에 어떤 변화가 일어나는 지를 알아보는 것이었다. 연구 참여에 동의한 15명의 대학교 기숙사 남학생들은 균형배정(counter-balance)을 원칙으로 각 강도의 운동(60%, 80%, 최대강도)을 차례로 수행하였다. 피험자들은 운동을 수행한 날 저녁 취침 직전에 체온을 측정하고 잠자리에 든 시간을 기록한 후 수면을 시작하였으며, 다음 날 기상과 함께 수면질 검사지와 정서상태 검사지를 완성하였다. 조건간의 평균을 비교하기 위해 실시한 반복측정 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA repeated measure) 사후검정(LSD) 결과 수면질은 80%강도의 운동 후가 비운동(no exercise) 후보다 높았고(p<.01), 잠드는데 걸린 시간도 80%의 운동이 비 운동에 비해 짧았으며(p<.05), 총수면시간은 60%의 운동 후가 비운동에 비해 긴 것으로(p<.05) 나타났다. 정서에서는 활력이 80%의 운동에서 비운동과 비교하여 높은 변화를 보였고(p<.05), 혼동과 총정서장애는 60%와 80% 강도의 운동 후에 비운동 후보다 낮아졌다(p<.05). 수면 전 체온은 최대운동과 비운동 사이에서만 유의한 차이가 나타났다(p<.05). 이 연구는 남자 성인들의 수면질을 향상시키기 위한 운동은 최대운동능력의 80% 강도가 적당하고, 수면 후 긍정적 정서를 위해서는 60% 강도의 운동도 권장될 수 있다는 결론에 도달하였다. 그 외 연구결과를 토대로 후속 연구들을 위한 방향이 논의되었다.
