        지난 반세기 동안 무분별한 산업 활동과 도시화로 인하여 유역환경은 심각하게 훼손 되었다. 이러한 도시화로 인하여 2010년을 기준으로 4대강 평균 총 배출부하량의 69.3%가 비점오염[non-point source(NPS)pollutants]으로 인한 것으로 조사 된바있다. 이를 관리하기 위한 요구는 증대되고 있으나 정량적으로 유역환경을 예측하여 판단하기 위한 시스템은 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본연구에서는 영산강유역 환경을 판단함에 있어 HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program-Fotran)모델의 모의를 통하여 국내 적합성 검토에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 그 후 HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program-Fotran)모델을 이용하여 강우 특성에 따른 유역내 분포하는 비점오염원 발생량의 공간적 시간적 분포에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과 영산강유역 환경을 모의 함에 있어 HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program-Fotran)모델이 적합한 모델이라 판단 되었으며, 이를 통하여 영산강 유역의 4대강 사업 이전과 이후 사상에 대한 비점오염부하에 대한 정량적인 평가를 실시 하였다.

        최근에 불투수층의 증가로 인하여 표면의 저류량이 감소하고 첨두유출과 전체 유출량은 증가한다. 첨두유출과 첨두유출 도달시간이 빨라지게 되면 홍수 발생률이 증가하여 도시유역의 피해를 증가시키며, 토양으로 침투되는 우수량이 감소하여 지하수위가 하강하게 되고 도시하천이 마르는 건천화가 진행되어 유역의 물 순환이 악화된다. 또한 하천 수질 오염의 원인은 점오염원과 비점오염원 등이 있는데, 비점오염원에 의한 오염이 점점 커져가는 양상이다. 이러한 이유는 도시유역이 지속적인 개발로 인해 불투수율이 증가하게 되어 초기강우에 오염물질이 하천으로 유입되고 있기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도시유역의 물순환 회복을 위한 투수성 포장 효과를 분석하며, 투수성 포장의 비점저감 효과 및 첨두유량 감소 효과를 분석하고자 한다. 도시유역 유출 모델인 SWMM을 이용하여 단기 유출 모의를 통하여 투수성 포장의 효과를 분석하였다.

        This study analyzed the characteristics of stormwater runoff by rainfall type in orchard areas and transportation areas for 2 years(2010~2011year). Effluents were monitored to calculate the Event Mean Concentrations(EMCs) and runoff loads of each pollutant. The pollutant EMCs by volume of stormwater runoff showed the ranges of BOD 0.9~13.6 ㎎/L, COD 13.7~45.2 ㎎/L, SS 4.1~236.4 ㎎/L, T-N 2.123~21.111 ㎎/L, T-P 0.495~2.214 ㎎/L in the orchard areas, and was calculated as BOD 2.3~22.5㎎ /L, COD 4.4~91.1 ㎎/L, SS 4.3~138.3 ㎎/L, T-N 0.700~13.500 ㎎/L, T-P 0.082~1.345 ㎎/L in the transportation areas. The correlation coefficient of determination in the orchard area was investigated in the order of Total Rainfall(0.81) > Total Runoff(0.76) > Rainfall Intensity(0.56) > Rainfall Duration(0.46) > Antecedent Dry Days(0.27). Also, in the case of the transportation area was investigated in the order of Total Rainfall (0.55) > Total Runoff(0.54) > Rainfall Intensity(0.53) > Rainfall Duration(0.24) > Antecedent Dry Days(0.14). As the result, comparing valuables relating to runoff of non-pollutant source between orchard areas and transportation areas, orchard area(R2 ≥ 0.5 : X3, X4, X5) was investigated to have more influence of diverse independent valuables compared to the transportation area(R2 ≥ 0.5 : X3, X4) and the difference of discharge influence factor by the land characteristics appeared apparently.

        오염물질의 이동 현상을 모의하기 위하여, 감쇠항이 있는 3차원 이송-확산 방정식의 수치모형이 개발되었다. 개발된 모형은 유한차분 모형으로서 시간단계의 가중치 α를 포함하는 음해법(implicit finite difference method)과, 반복법인 Gauss-Seidel SOR(successive over relaxation)이 사용되었다. 모형은 보다 단순화된 가정 하에서 존재하는 두 가지의 해석적인 해와 비교되었다. 그 결과 Peclet number가 5~20 이하에서는 수치 분산의 영향이 크지 않았고 작은 오차 범위 내에서 해석적인 해와 동일하였다. 또한 가중치 α의 변화에 대한 모형의 거동은 Crank-Nicolson 모형(α=0.5)이 fully-implicit 모형(α= 1)보다 해석적인 해에 접근함을 보여주었다. 모형의 검증과 실효성 제고를 위하여, mass balance를 검토하였다. 즉, 이송, 확산 및 감쇠항 각각에 대한 질량 이동을 산출하였으며, 그 결과 질량 이동의 계산 오차는 약 3% 이내였다. 본 모형은 감쇠 과정이 수반되는 3차원 이송-확산의 농도분포와 질량이동을 산출할 수 있으며 다양한 경계 조건을 설정함으로서 현장조건을 반영할 수 있다. 그러나 본 모형은 고정 격자를 기반으로 하는 유한차분 모형이므로 Peclet number가 비교적 작게 나타날 수 있는 토양 및 지하수계의 오염물질 이동 등의 문제에서 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        This study analyzed the characteristics of stormwater runoff by rainfall type in orchard areas for two years. Effluents were monitored to calculate the EMCs and runoff loads of each pollutant. The runoff characteristics for nonpoint sources from vineyards were also inspected based on independent variables that affect runoff such as rainfall and rainfall intensity. The average runoff loads of each pollutant from vineyard_A and vineyard_B were found as follows: BOD 39.13 ㎎/㎡, COD 112.13 ㎎/㎡, TOC 54.98 ㎎/㎡, SS 1,681.8 ㎎/㎡, TN 18.29 ㎎/㎡, and TP 4.06 ㎎/㎡, which indicates that the COD's runoff load was especially high. The average EMCs from vineyard_A and vineyard_B, which represents the quality of rainfall effluent, were also analyzed: BOD 3.5 ㎎/L, COD 11.5 ㎎/L, TOC 5.2 ㎎/L, SS 211.7 ㎎/L, TN 1.774 ㎎/L, and TP 0.324 ㎎ /L. This suggested that the COD, as an indicator of organic pollutants, is high in terms of EMCs as well. As rainfall increased, the EMCs of BOD, COD, TOC and SS kept turning upward. At a point, however, the high rainfall brought about dilution effects and began to push down the EMCs. Higher rainfall intensities led to the increase in the EMCs that displays the convergence of rainfall. Low rainfall intensities also raised pollutant concentrations, although the concentrations themselves were slightly different among pollutants.

        This study presented seasonal changes of the phytoplankton community in Junam reservoir by pollution and water quality of the lake. The water storage of the reservoir is 5.3 million ton, most of which are being utilized for agricultural, industrial and residential purposes. The annual precipitation during the investigation period was 1,868.9 ㎜, increasing by 20% from the average annual level of 1,506.7 ㎜ in 2009. The annual average water storage was 57.3%. It decreased during agricultural season and then increased again after monsoon rainfall. The loads of BOD were 3,799 ㎏day -1 , and 81% of them came from livestock and household. The TN and TP loads were 1,164 ㎏day -1 and 170 ㎏day -1 , respectively, and 76% of them came from livestock. We assessed water quality of the Junam reservoir using 17 variables. According to the result, the reservoir met the fourth grade, meaning slightly bad, because of high concentration of COD, SS and chlorophyll-a. Eutrophication assessment was conducted by revised Carlson's Index (TSIm, Aizaki), and it was found that the entire lake was eutrophicated with high chlorophyll-a concentration all through the year, except during February to April and in July. A total of 76 phytoplankton species were identified from the samples. Among them, the largest number of species were Chlorophyceae with 33 species(43.4%), followed by Bacilliophyceae with 27 species(35.5%), Cyanophyceae with 8 species(10.5%), and Cryptophyceae with species(10.5%). The total cell number of phytoplankton was the highest in October(7,884 cells mL -1 ) among Cyanophyceae and Bacilliophyceae. The seasonal succession of Chlorophyceae (Chlamydomonas spp.), Cyanophyceae(Microcystis aeruginosa) and Cryptophyceae(Rhodomonas spp.) was observed during January to May, July to September and October to December respectively.

        Growth in population and urbanization has progressively increased the loading of pollutants from nonpoint sources as well as point sources. Especially in case of road regions such as city trunk road, national road and highway are rainfall and pollutants runoff intensive landuses since they are impervious and emit a lot of pollutants from vehicle activity. This research was conducted to investigate the nonpoint sources concentration and quantifying stormwater pollutants which are contained in rainfall runoff water. Three different monitoring sites in Jinju and Changwon city were equipped with an automatic rainfall gauge and flow meter for measuring rainfall and the volume of rainfall runoff. In the case of average EMC value, city trunk road was shown the highest value in target water quality items like as BOD, COD, SS, TN and TP. Or the amount of runoff loads by water quality items showed the highest value in city trunk road. And runoff load in city trunk road was 43.8 times high value compared to highway by value of city trunk road 356.7 ㎎/㎡, highway 8.150 ㎎/㎡, national road 19.99 ㎎/ ㎡ in the case of BOD.

        The objectives of this study were to measure ambient total gaseous mercury (TGM) concentrations in Seoul, to analyze the characteristics of TGM concentration, and to identify of possible source areas for TGM using back-trajectory based hybrid receptor models like PSCF (Potential Source Contribution Function) and RTWC (Residence Time Weighted Concentration). Ambient TGM concentrations were measured at the roof of Graduate School of Public Health building in Seoul for a period of January to October 2004. Average TGM concentration was 3.43±1.17 ng/㎥. TGM had no notable pattern according to season and meteorological phenomena such as rainfall, Asian dust, relative humidity and so on. Hybrid receptor models incorporating backward trajectories including potential source contribution function (PSCF) and residence time weighted concentration (RTWC) were performed to identify source areas of TGM. Before hybrid receptor models were applied for TGM, we analysed sensitivities of starting height for HYSPLIT model and critical value for PSCF. According to result of sensitivity analysis, trajectories were calculated an arrival height of 1000 m was used at the receptor location and PSCF was applied using average concentration as criterion value for TGM. Using PSCF and RTWC, central and eastern Chinese industrial areas and the west coast of Korea were determined as important source areas. Statistical analysis between TGM and GEIA grided emission bolsters the evidence that these models could be effective tools to identify possible source area and source contribution.

        The influence of the point source inflow on the water quality variation in the downstream of Hyeongsan River was investigated. As the results of seasonal variation, the pollutant concentrations of dry season were 1.5~4 times higher than those of wet season. The increase rate of BOD5, CODMn, T-N, T-P due to point source were ranged to 8.1~42.6%, 7.3~41.9% and 17.1~207% as the inflow of P1, P2 and P3, respectively. After P1, P2 and P3 inflow, the accumulated increase rate were 64.3%, 32.6%, 93.1% and 258.9% in BOD5, CODMn, T-N, T-P, respectively. It was found that the influence of point source inflow on the water quality in the downstream of Hyeongsan River is severe.

        The air pollutant emission is mainly caused by line sources in urban area. For example, the annually totaled air pollutant emission is known to consist of about 80% of line sources in Daegu. Hence, the appropriate assessment on the air pollutants of line sources is very important for the atmospheric environmental management in urban area. In this study, we made a comparative study to evaluate suitable dispersion model for estimating the air pollution from line sources. Two air pollution dispersion models, ISCST3 and CALINE4 were the subject of this study. The results were as follows; In the assessment of air pollution model, ISCST3 was found to have 4 times higher concentration than CALINE4. In addition, actual data obtained by measurement and estimated values by CALINE4 were generally identical. The air pollution assessment based on ISC3 model produced significantly lower values than actual data. The air pollution levels estimated by ISCST3 were very low in comparison with the observational values.

        The runoff characteristics of non-point source pollutions in the municipal area of Jeonju were investigated and analyzed by using the SWMM (Storm Water Management Model). The flow rates and water qualities of runoff from two types of drainage conduits were measured respectively. One was a conventional combined sewer system and the other was a separated sewer system constructed recently. From August to November in 2004, investigations on two rainfall events were performed and flow rate, pH, BOD, COD, SS, T-N and T-P were measured. These data were also used for model calibration. On the basis of the measured data and the simulation results by SWMM, it is reported that 80-90% of pollution load is discharged in the early-stage storm runoff. Therefore, initial 10-30 mm of rainfall should be controlled effectively for the optimal treatment of non-point source pollution in urban area. Also, it was shown that the SWMM model was suitable for the management of non-point source pollution in the urban area and for the analysis of runoff characteristics of pollutant loads.

        The present study investigated runoff characteristics of non-point pollutants and discharge load amount according to the land utilization in Yeinam river basin. The land utilization of target basin was divided into paddy field, dry field, forest, residential area and composition area. The study on the runoff characteristics of non-point pollutants by rainfall-runoff process showed that COD, SS and T-P had the first-flushing effect with relatively high concentration in early-stage of the rainfall-runoff process, but the T-P revealed similar runoff characteristics. Event Mean Concentration(EMC) of BOD and COD according to the land utilization revealed the range of 3.11~15.50mg/L and 3.37~33.42mg/L, and the highest concentration of EMC corresponding to BOD and COD was detected in the paddy field. The EMC of SS showed 1.7~305.02mg/L and it's highest concentration was found in the dry field. The EMC of T-N and T-P represented the highest concentration in the paddy field and dry field with range of 0.91~8.76mg/L and 0.02~0.44mg/L.

        Scanning electron microscopy / energy dispersive X-ray analyzer(SEM/EDX) has played an important role for evaluation the source of atmospheric particle because it is a powerful tool for characterizing individual particles. The SEM/EDX system provides various physical parameters like optical diameter, as well as chemical information for a particle-by-particle basis. The purpose of the study was to classify individual particle emitted from the point sources based on clustering analysis and physico-chemical analysis by SEM/EDX. The total of 490 individual particle were analyzed at 8 point sources including coal-fired power plant, incinerator, B-C oil boiler, and metal manufacturing industry. The main components were Si and Al in the coal-fired power plant, Cl and Na in the domestic waste Incinerator, S in the B-C oil boiler and S and Fe in the metal manufactory industry, respectively.
