        This study explores the perceptions of Chinese engineering-major students towards their English learning experience after taking a mandatory English composition course in an EMI college. The investigation centers on first-year students’ perceptions of transitioning to EMI, with a focus on how the composition course has assisted students’ transition as a primary language support. Data were collected through a metaphor elicitation technique in which students expressed their perceptions of English learning, complemented by a thematic analysis of 86 reflection essays on the composition class. An analysis of the 334 metaphors identified students’ enhanced confidence in English, the importance of the English-using environment, positive views of learning communities, and increased agency in the learning process. It also revealed that many students were stressed and unaware of learning strategies, therefore suggesting institutional-level language support. One implication is to promote the culture of the learning community. The findings can be particularly useful for programs that are implementing language support for non-English major students.

        We have observed a phenomenon where the internal X capacitors of the input EMI filter experienced damage during operation. To solve the problem, we have analyzed the malfunction by identifying the characteristics and operating principles of EMI filter. Based on this analysis, we have derived improvement strategies and validated them through experiments. This paper help some people prevent the similar problem when developing the similar equipment and solve the similar problem of the similar equipment.

        Preparation of advanced functional materials from agricultural waste by eco-friendly processing route is inevitable for sustainable development. This work demonstrates the development of carbon/silica (C/SiO2) and carbon/silicon carbide (C/ SiC) composite foam monoliths of low thermal conductivity, high EMI shielding performance and reasonable compressive strength from rice husk. The C/SiO2 and C/SiC composite foams are obtained by carbonization and subsequent carbothermal reduction, respectively, of rice husk–sucrose composites consolidated by filter-pressing rice husk powder dispersed in sucrose solutions of various concentrations (300–600 g L− 1). The amorphous nature of silica in C/SiO2 and the presence of β-SiC in C/SiC are evidenced from XRD and TEM analysis. The compressive strength and thermal conductivity are depending on the foam density which is tailored by sucrose solution concentration. The compressive strength in the ranges of 0.32–1.67 and 0.19–1.19 MPa are observed for C/SiO2 and C/SiC foams, respectively, with density in the ranges of 0.26–0.37 and 0.18–0.29 g cm− 3. The C/SiO2 and C/SiC exhibited thermal conductivity in the ranges of 0.150–0.205 W m− 1 K− 1 and 0.165–0.431 W m− 1 K− 1, respectively. The C/SiO2 and C/SiC composite foams show absorption dominated EMI shielding effectiveness in the ranges of 18–38.5 dB and 20–43.7 dB, respectively. The inherent pore channels and corrugated surface structure in rice husk, electrically conducting carbon and dielectric SiO2 and SiC contribute to the total EMI shielding.

        Biodegradable epoxy (B-epoxy) was prepared from diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A and epoxidized linseed oil. The mechanical properties of B-epoxy composites reinforced with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs/B-epoxy) were examined by employing dynamic mechanical analysis, critical stress intensity factor (KIC) tests, and impact strength tests. The electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI-SE) of the composites was evaluated using reflection and absorption methods. Mechanical properties of MWCNTs/B-epoxy were enhanced with an increase in the MWCNT content, whereas they deteriorated when the MWCNT content was >5 parts per hundred resin (phr). This can likely be attributed to the entanglement of MWCNTs with each other in the B-epoxy due to the presence of an excess amount of MWCNTs. The highest EMI-SE obtained was ~16 dB for the MWCNTs/B-epoxy composites with a MWCNT content of 13 phr at 1.4 GHz. The composites (13 phr) exhibited the minimum EMI-SE (90%) when used as shielding materials at 1.4 GHz. The EMI-SE of the MWCNTs/B-epoxy also increased with an increase in the MWCNT content, which is a key factor affecting the EMI-SE.

        The electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding sheet of grid pattern for the wireless charger has been designed by using grid pattern metal sheet, PET & DST stacking and laminating technology. For this purpose, the twisting protection and the bubbling prevention device, the automatic position adjustment controller, the visual sensors and the motor actuator for controller, the EMI shielding sheet cutting device and the main control system have been developed for manufacturing the apparatus. As the study result, the development on manufacturing the equipment and shielding sheet of the EMI shielding sheet of grid pattern for the wireless charger having the lamination productivity of 27.4m/min exceeded the target of 8m/min in this study. In addition, the magnetic induction and the applicable shielding sheet were prepared in the magnetic resonance system, all of the two wireless charging system. The power with a band of average 6.87MHz of shielding sheet was greater than the target of 30dB to 32.57dB. The available frequency with a band of average 7.95MHz the target was exceeded by a 7.00MHz.

        The purpose of this study was to develop a grid forming equipment of the electromagenetic interference(EMI) shielding sheet for use in a wireless charger. In addition, the present study was to form a lattice in the surface of the thin metal ribbon to exert an electromagnetic wave shielding performance of the precision small electronic devices such as smart phones. For this, grid forming presses such as manual pressurized press, automatic pressurized press, heat pressurized press, and continuous grid forming equipment with cylinder roll type, and a grid inspection and grid uniformity inspection devices have been developed. Finally, the cylindrical roller-type continuous grid forming equipment showed the best suited.

        The EMI shield material with narrow width has some deficiencies in shielding capability and this deficiencies are caused by the inconsistent relationship between the inductance and temperature after heat treatment. This study is performed to develop a nano crystal magnetization heat treatment process technology and design a EMI shielding material with wide width up to 350mm. As a result, the performance of the developed wide EMI shield material satisfies all the objects of this study such as the inductance, thickness, permeability, ribbon productivity, lamination productivity. Also, we find that this wide EMI shield material can be used effectively for the EMI shield room, large medical equipment and so on.

        Ultra thin sheet for electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding purpose has been designed using base metal, PET & DST sheet stacking technology. Also, an automatic manufacturing system is developed. This ultra thin EMI shielding sheet is an effective shield against low frequency(~300kHz) EMI that can not shield completely by the existing EMI shielding sheet. And the developed automatic manufacturing system can stack ultra thin shielding sheet without any wrinkles.

        This paper investigates the differences in college learners' perceptions and correlations of factors related to willingness to communicate (WTC) in an English mediated instruction (EMI) class. Based on a survey of 50 collegiates (33 males, 17 females) and two rounds of interviews with 15 students, the t-tests showed that there were not many statistical differences depending on learner characteristics except the learners' grade difference affecting their perception of improvement in English. However, depending on the course types, the Kruskal-Wallis test showed statistically significant differences in the categories of present level of participation, expected level of participation with L1 option, question & answer, group collaboration, active listening, and preference to EMI with L1 option. Furthermore, the factors of WTC appeared strongly correlated with their perceptions on the improvement in English, increased confidence, and the extent of learning in the EMI class. According to qualitative analyses of open-ended questions in the survey and interviews, the learners thought group presentations in English were most difficult. They also responded that their low English proficiency, peer pressure, and the student-orientedness in class made them passive and less confident. The learners, however, adopted diverse coping strategies to overcome such difficulties. They were also positive about the limited use of L1 in the EMI class. Implications for EMI are suggested.

        This study investigates how two teachers’ identities are negotiated in a situated educational context and how this affects the formation of student identities in an English mediated instruction (EMI) course. Since learning is defined as negotiation of identity there has been increasing research on teacher identity as pedagogy because the teacher’s identity is a major factor in managing the negotiation with students. This study looks at how the teachers’ cultural, socio-political, and educational philosophical identities are negotiated in the locally situated classroom and how these identities influence Korean university students in the formation of their identities. The results of the study comprise two sections. The teachers’ identity is discursively constructed in local socio-cultural discourse practice, and the teacher identity works as pedagogy. The other result shows that the teachers’ various identities serve as role models for students in their negotiations as they take up, resist, and shift between different identities. This study also suggests some implications for the use of the teacher education regarding identity.

        EMI 차폐재를 이용하여 전자파 장해를 극복하는 방법에는 금속판을 이용하는 방법과 플라스틱 표면에 전도층을 형성하는 방법, 전도성 충진제를 플라스틱에 혼입하는 방법이 대표적으로 사용되고 있으나 각각의 방법마다 장단점이 존재하기 때문에 많은 연구들의 목적은 전자 기기 본체의 무게를 증가시키지 않고 최대한 전자파 차폐 효율을 높이는 물질 개발에 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 본 연구에서는 비중이 낮고 판상형인 운모 분체 펴면 위에 무전해 니켈 도금을 시행하므로써 전도성을 지니는 금속화운모를 제조하여, 이를 EMI차폐용 분체로서 사용하였다. 또한 이 EMI 차폐용 분체의 특성을 고찰 하였다. 미분체 운모 표면에 무전해 니켈막 금속화운모 미분체를 도료화하여 전자파 차폐 효과를 측정한 결과 최고 63dB를 나타내었다. 이 값은 구리 금속판을 이용한 전자파 차폐의 90dB에는 못 미치지만, 도포 횟수를 6회 이상 시행했을 경우 전자파 차폐 효과가 약 10dB 정도가 증가함을 알 수 있었고, 넓은 범위의 전자파 차폐 효과를 거둘 수 있는 특징이 있다.

        The study discusses the strength development of fresh concrete using fuzzy logic on Electromechanical impedance(EMI) data collected through Piezoelectric(PZT) sensors. For gaining data to estimate real time strength development of concrete through sensors, 3 specimens of concrete were casted for experiment. The PZT sensors were embedded in experimented concrete to perform dual job of actuating and sensing. In this technique with poring of concrete the PZT material starts actuating to produce vibrations, for the same time these materials work as sensors and measure the dynamic responses of the vibrations. Thus, with development of concrete strength the resonant frequencies of EMI start changing. The process of measuring data was continued for every hour for 28 days, after getting EMI data, it was treated by fuzzy logic technique to get a clear strength curve for defining strength development pattern. The change observed in EMI data curve leads to estimating concrete strength.

        Recently, according to the development of electromagnetic wave technique, more frequent and powerfull wave radiation becomes inevitable and so electromagnetic environments has become worse accordingly. Electromagnetic wave absorber is known the most effective preventive remedy to cope with the EMI/EMC problem. To realize broad-band electromagnetic wave absorber, triple layered structure where an air layer is interposed between a sintered ferrite layer and a ruber ferrite layer was adopted. Computer simulation for optimum design and evaluation of absorption characteristics has been made. The results shows that designed broad-band electromagnetic wave absorber can be useful for EMI/EMC problem, especially reducing TV ghosts in both VHF and UHF bands by additionally an air layer and a thin rubber ferrite layer on the surface of conventional ferrite, without replacing it.
