‘Magic Yellow’ 품종은 경남농업기술원 화훼연구소 에서 복색 홑꽃인 ‘Artist Pink’를 모본, 복색 홑꽃의 ‘SP03-47’을 부본으로 인공교배를 실시하여 2004에서 2008년에 걸쳐서 파종과 계통선발을 통해 육성하였다. 품종의 특성검정은 2006년부터 2008년까지 촉성재배 와 억제재배, 자연재배 조건 아래서 3회에 걸쳐 조사 하였다. ‘Magic Yellow’ 품종의 자연개화기는 10월18 일경으로 빠른 편이며, 일장조절에 의해 주년재배가 가 능하다. 초장이 120.2 cm로 크고 꽃 크기가 6.0 cm 인 스프레이국화로 착화수는 11.4개이다. 화색은 황색 과 적색을 가진 복색이며, 개화형태는 실린더형이다. 봄의 단일상태에서 ‘Magic Yellow’ 품종의 개화소요 일수는 45일 정도로 개화가 빠르며, 가을 절화수명 검 정에서 22.9일로 긴 편이다.

A new spray chrysanthemum cultivar ‘Snow Bowl’ was released by National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science(NIHHS), Rural Development Administration (RDA), in 2008. The cross was made in 2005 between ‘03B1-230’, breeding lines of NIHHS and ‘Sei-Alps’. Trials were conducted from 2006 to 2008 for the evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shading cultures in summer and retarding cultures in spring. The natural flowering time of ‘Snow Bowl’ is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by photo-periodic control. It has single type flowers with white petals. The growth of plant is very vigorous and it is resistant to white rust. The diameter of flower is 6.3cm. Number of flowers per stem and petals per flower are 12 and 31, respectively. Days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 59 and its vase life is 24.1 days in autumn season. ‘Snow Bowl’ was applied as No. 2009-179 on February 18, 2009 for variety protection and the plant variety protection rights have been registered as No. 3239 on August 3, 2010 at the Korea Seed and Variety Service

‘Biz’ 품종은 경남농업기술원 화훼연구소에서 백색 홑꽃 인 우수계통 ‘SP03-117’을 모본, 백색 홑꽃인‘Angaesoguk’ 을 부본으로 인공교배를 실시하여 2004에서 2008년에 걸쳐서 파종과 계통선발을 통해 육성하였다. 품종의 특 성검정은 2006년부터 2008년까지 봄 촉성재배와 가을 억제재배 조건아래서 3회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. ‘비즈’ 품종 의 자연개화기는 10월 26일경이며, 일장조절에 의해 주년 재배가 가능하다. 초장이 87.7cm이고 꽃 크기가 3.0 cm인 산티니계의 스프레이국화로 착화수는 15.6개이다. 화색은 백색이며, 개화형태는 실린더형이다. 봄의 단일상태에서 ‘Biz’ 품종의 개화소요일수는 42일 정도로 개화가 빠르며, 가을 절화수명검정에서 24.1일로 아주 긴 편이다.

‘Noble Wine’ 품종은 경남농업기술원 화훼연구소에서 백색 홑꽃인 ‘SL03-01’을 모본, 복색 홑꽃인 ‘Artist Pink’ 를 부본으로 인공교배를 실시하여 2003년에서 2007년에 걸쳐서 파종과 계통선발을 통해 육성하였다. 품종의 특 성검정은 2005년부터 2007년까지 봄 촉성재배와 가을 억제재배 조건아래서 3회에 걸쳐 조사하였다. ‘Noble Wine’ 품종의 자연개화기는 10월26일경이며, 일장조절 에 의해 주년재배가 가능하다. 꽃 크기가 5.4 cm인 소 륜으로 꽃 하나의 꽃잎수가 21.6개정도이고 착화수도 28.5개로 많은 편이다. 화색은 복색(백색/적색)이며, 녹 색화심을 가졌다. 봄의 단일상태에서 ‘Noble Wine’ 품종의 개화소요일수는 45일 정도이며, 가을 절화수명은 21.3일로 나타났다.

국내 재배환경에 적합한 다수성인 거베라 소륜계통 의 우수 신품종 육성을 위하여 경남농업기술원 화훼육종연구소에서 1999년부터 교배조합 육성을 위하여 국 내의 재배농가와 종묘업체로부터 품종을 수집한 후, 2001년 3월에 핑크색 대륜계의 ‘Grandeur’를 모본, 오 렌지색 중·대륜계의 ‘Songsongee’를 부본으로 인공교 배를 실시하여 교배조합으로부터 436개의 종자를 획득 하였다. 교배 후 결실이 된 조합은 채종 즉시 파종 하였으며, 파종 1개월 후 발아된 378개의 유묘는 본 엽이 4∼5매 전개되었을 때 화훼육종연구소 유리온실 내의 선발 포장에 정식하였다. 그 후 교잡 1세대를 육 묘하여 화색이 선명하고 수량이 많은 우수 5개체 (01129-028, 105, 188, 325, 335)를 1차로 선발하였 다. 그 후 특성이 우수한 01129-335(경남 G-24)개체 를 생장점배양에 의해 개체증식 후 화훼육종연구소 유 리온실내의 특성검정 포장에 정식하여 2003년 6월부터 2004년 10월까지 3회에 걸쳐 생육 및 수량특성 검정 을 실시하였다. 특성검정을 실시한 결과 화색, 화형, 수확량 등 품질과 수량이 우수하다고 판단되어 2005 년 농작물 직무육성 신품종선정위원회의 심의를 거쳐 ‘Sweety’로 명명하였다. ‘Sweety’는 화색이 선명한 오 렌지색의 반겹꽃 절화용으로 수량이 많고 안정된 중· 소륜화로서 화색과 화심색이 잘 조화된 기호도가 높은 품종이다. 본당 수량은 연간 3회 검정 결과 평균 51.2개이며, 평균 절화수명은 10.4일이다.

꽃차는 색, 향, 맛 중에서 먼저 눈으로 마신다고 할 만큼 색의 아름다움은 다른 차와 차별성 및 정체성이 뚜렷이 구별되고 있어 이러한 꽃차 고유의 특성을 발전 및 산업화를 위한 꽃차 시장의 확대에 따라 개인별 맞춤형 기호성 차로 발전시키기 위한 본 연구는 꽃차소믈리에의 성격유형에 따른 꽃차에 대한 색채 감성을 알아보고자 수행되었으며 그 결과는 다음과 같았다. 응답한 152명의 꽃차소믈리에 성격유형을 보면 본능중심형인 장형이 109명(71.7%), 감정중심형인 가슴형이 19명(12.5%), 사고중심형인 머리형이 24명(15.8%)으로 약 5.7 : 1 : 1.3 정도이었다. 꽃차에 대한 색채 감성에서 빨간색 꽃차와 노란색 꽃차에서 “따뜻한”이 가장 높은 점수를 나타내었고 초록색 꽃차, 파란색 꽃차, 보라색 꽃차에서 모두 “기분 좋은”이 가장 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 이러한 결과에서 볼 때 꽃차는 일반 차와는 달리 먼저 눈으로 마신다고 할 만큼 색의 아름다운 매력 때문에 나타난 결과라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 조사는 앞으로 전문적 꽃차소믈리에 양성 시 다른차와 차별성 및 정체성으로 뚜렷이 구별되므로 꽃차 색채 감성 연구에 도움이 될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

A new Phalaenopsis cultivar SM 6310 was bred by Kyungpook National University, Korea. The new cultivar SM 6310, showing the phenotype of yellow colored mini type characteristics, was introduced by artificial crossing of Phalaenopsis ‘Brother Gold Miss’ and Phalaenopsis philippinensis. An elite individual number ‘03-06-31’ later named as ‘SM 6310’ was selected among 250 individual progenies for more than 2 years(2004-2005) intensive selection process covering excellent vegetative and flowering characteristics. In year 2006-2007, the 1st and 2nd characteristic analysis were performed through stability and uniformity test. The ‘SM 6310’ shows that flower color is bright clean yellow (RHS#:12B) and flower shape is small type with size of 5.8 and 6.1cm in flower length and width, respectively. ‘SM 6310’ is regarded as raceme flower type suitable small flower pot market. The leaf of ‘SM 6310’ is rowing horizontally and about 15.6cm in length and 7.1cm in width. This cultivar also possesses no genetic variation, fast invitro propagation and easy growing due to vigorous growth habit. This ‘SM 6310’ is registered (Reg.#:3825) to Korea Seed & Variety Service (KSVS) in 21 December, 2011 and PBR (plant breeder's right) is currently controlled by Sangmiwon Orchid Company, Korea.

A new Phalaenopsis cultivar Hwasu 3551 was bred by Kyungpook National University, Korea, which produces young plants through tissue culture techniques. The new cultivar Hwasu 3551, showing the phenotype of pink colored large stripe type characteristics, was derived from crossing between Phalaenopsis Minho Princess and Minho Stripes. An elite individual number '03-35-51' later coined as 'Hwasu 3551' was selected among about 300 individual progenies for more than 2 years intensive selection process covering vegetative and flowering distinctiveness. In year 2006-2007, the 1st and 2nd characteristic analysis were carried out through performance and uniformity test. The Hwasu 3551 shows that flower color is bright clean pink (RHS#RP69D) and flower shape is formal type with size of 7.4 and 8.8cm in flower length and width, respectively. Hwasu 3551 is regarded as raceme flower type suitable large flower pot market. The leaf of Hwasu 3551 is rowing horizontally and about 22.3cm in length and 9.4cm in width, respectively. This cultivar also possesses no genetic variation, fast invitro propagation and easy growing due to vigorous growth habit. This Hwasu 3551 is registered (Reg.#:2917) to Korea Seed & Variety Service (KSVS) in 1st December, 2009 and PBR (plant breeder's right) is currently controlled by Sangmiwon Orchid Company, Korea.

A new hybrid, Cymbidium(C.) ‘Beauty smile’ was developed as new hybrid by National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration, Suwon, Korea in 2013. This hybrid came from the progenies crossed between C. ‘2113’(Accession No.) and C. Lucky Rainbow ‘Randevous’ in 2000. Finally, eighty seven seedlings were obtained after planting and acclimatization in green house. In 2007, one line was selected by their performance such as flower color, leaf shape, flower stalk, and vigorous growth and named ‘Wongyuo F1-43. The line code 000550-78 had uniformity and excellent characteristics. The selected line after second characteristics test was named as ‘Beauty smile’. This hybrid had bright pink colored petal and lip (RP63D)and large sized flower(diameter 8.3cm). A ‘Beauty smile’ had about 13.3 flowers per flower stalk and medium sized flower and plant. General impression of petals and sepals showed some incurved shape. The attitude of peduncle was half-erect. Bloom was started from middle of November under optimal culture condition.

무안 회산지 백련의 개화 상태를 통해 개화 이력을 알 수 있는 지표 마련 및 이를 이용하여 생태 체험관광 자원 등으로 활용하기 위한 자료 확보 측면에서 개화 기간 중의 화형 변화를 조사하였다. 꽃은 개화 1일째는 6시에, 2일째는 5시 40분, 3일째는 6시 10분, 4일째는 5시 10분에 개화가 시작되어 오전 중에 피었다가 12시 이후에는 오므려들었다. 꽃의 직경은 개화 1일째는 10시 정각에 7.6cm, 2일째는 7시 정각에 25.2cm, 3일째는 8시 정각에 23.7cm, 4일째는 10시 정각에 22.2cm로 최대치를 나타냈다. 꽃잎 수는 14개였으며, 3일째에 2개가 탈락되었으며, 4일째 12시 이전에 모두 탈락되었다. 꽃잎의 각도는 개화 1일째는 모두 직립하였으며, 1일째와 4일째는 하향된 꽃잎이 없었고, 2일째는 수평, 3일째는 직립형과 사립형이 많았다. 이와 같이 백련 꽃의 화형은 개화 후 경과 일수에 따른 각각의 특성이 뚜렷하였다. 따라서 개화 상태별로 시청각 자료나 모형을 만든 후 시청각 자료 및 모형을 보면서 개화 이력을 추적할 수 있게 하면 무안 회산지 백련은 생태체험 관광 자원으로서 활용가치가 더욱 높아질 것으로 생각된다.

The cross was made in 2004 between 'Innocence', a breeding cultivar of NIHHS, and 'Baeksokuk', a spray cultivar with white petals. Trials were conducted from 2005 to 2007 for the evaluation and selection of this cultivar, including shade cultures in summer and retarding cultures in autumn. The natural flowering time of 'Pure Angel' is late October, but year-round flowering is possible by photo-periodic control. The cultivar has single type flowers with pure white petals and a green flower center. It shows long vase life and resistance to white rust. The diameter of flower is 52.5 mm. The numbers of flowers per stem and petals per flower are 12 and 22.5, respectively. Days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 52 days in spring seasons.
